Or a โ€œbest of wrestler Xโ€ compilation which is just every match they had on TV between October and February, win lose or draw, good match, bad or indifferent.

Joking aside, the second part of that sentence does hold some appeal to me. I'm back into wrestling after 10 years or so without watching a single thing. Something like that for the likes of Kenny Omega in New Japan or Kenny Omega in AEW is definitely something I would watch. So yeah ... at least one person would watch it.

  2. In pro wrestling matches where two people trade punches or chops in the middle of the ring and one person stands upright and lets the other hit him \ her before taking their turn. Dumb. Just makes no sense. Why would you let someone hit you in a fight? Completely kills the illusion.

You have to feel for the guy. Rehabs a hand injury, goes through a camp and (based on some earlier photos this week) had done a load of work to get his weight on point ... only to be denied a home fight through no fault of his own.

Edit: I mean, just look at the bloke:

Rampage is set up so well to be 3-4 squash matches, some video packages, with a "big" main event like WCW Worldwide used to be, heck even the early days of Raw.

That sounds dull as fuck. I'd put up with that for about two weeks before default-fast-forwarding to the main even every time. It's the exact reason I can't be bothered with Dark.

Couple of months down the line we get the inevitable Blood & Guts match pitting the ROH originals against the AEW originals.

Punk, Danielson, Daniels, Cabana and a returning Samoa Joe against Omega, Bucks, Hangman and a returning Cody Rhodes.

I mean, booked right, that sounds great.

  6. Don't really understand some of the negativity here. ROH was on its knees, right? AEW has a roster that's too large to really fully utilise. Tony Khan is responsible for giving us a wrestling product that's actually worth watching. Therefore Tony Khan, owner of AEW, buying ROH can only be a good thing.

I also see comments all the time about Khan booking AEW like he's playing EWR. Why is that a put-down? I hadn't watched pro wrestling since about 2005 and yet the chat around AEW (and it's cross over with American Top Team) was enough to make me give it a try. I now genuinely look forward to new episodes of Dynamite each week and never miss an episode. If that's what booking like EWR looks like ... I'm all for it.

  7. What is MJF referring to in his promo when we says he was scrolling on Instagram and saw a photo of Punk shaking hands with Danielson? What's the relevance there? Is it just that it served as a reminder to him of how good Punk was and how much he idolised him back at that time? Or is he referring to some big historical event that someone who hasn't watched wrestling for 10 years wouldn't know about?

  8. Haven't really watched pro wrestling since 2010. Became an MMA fan and got sucked back in to it via ATT showing up in AEW.

If I used to be into work rate, strong style and technical stuff but didn't really care for death match \ hardcore and high flying stuff ... what promotion should I try out?

  9. JR saying "cowboy shiznit" for Adam Page instead of "Cowboy Shit". Like nails down a chalkboard every time.

You're a grown man, Jim. Just say 'shit', for fuck sake. Either that or say nothing at all.

Keith Lee seemed like a lock for a major WWE career - just those few minutes in there with Lesnar showed he had the gravitas to be the man. ย No idea what happened - he's had health issues right?

Nevertheless - there are TOO MANY people on the AEW roster, particularly ones who I imagine expect themselves to be main eventers.

I have zero interest in WWE 'legends' in AEW. All it does is make AEW feel like a tribute act. The whole appeal, for me at least, is AEW as an alternative option.

So does Fury get a place on the Mount Rushmore of heavyweights now? Who out of Sprott, Harrison, Williams and Skelton has to make way?

Fuck, sorry. Just been back and looked and I'm sure that Tweet preview hadn't loaded or something when I read the page.
