latest on Haye/Klitchsko:

Though fans are almost certainly sick to death of the annoying Klitschko-Haye saga that is still ongoing, with both men pointing the finger at the other when it comes to why the unification bout has not yet been signed; Wladimir has today said he is more than happy to face Haye on July 2nd. In Klitschko

I don't know what to think now. But this part:

Wladimir says fighting Derek Chisora on April 30th and then Haye, nine weeks later on July 2nd, would be no problem for him.

...sounds like something someone would say knowing full well their sponsors, representatives, trainers etc won't allow another fight so soon after the Chisora bout.

Bored of it all now, and it just sums up how shit the heavyweight division is. They seem to be scared of each other. What happened to wanting to be the undisputed best and turning away every possible challenge?

It doesn't matter who is ducking who. Basically, there's not enough money to force them to the table so they can play their silly games. Lewis/Tyson happened because HBO and Showtime realised they could make a shitload of money. There's no such catalyst here.

Paul McCloskey, Lamont Peterson and now John Murray are in the running to fight Amir Khan in April from what I'm reading.

And Juan Manuel Marquez is fighting Erik Morales on April 9th in Vegas. I would have killed to see that one a few years ago. I'll still watch it but its a shame it probably won't be what it could have been. Winky Wright's fighting Matthew Macklin on the same card.

Broad question, but can anyone recommend any particularly good fights from the last five years that are up on YouTube?

if you havent seen them you have to watch Micky Ward v Gatti - they have 3 fights - they are from 2002/3 though, but if you havent watched them they are the best fights i have seen, well the 1st is an all time classic. Theres a film coming out about Irish Micky Ward in Feb with Mark Whalberg and Christian Bale in, its got good reviews. The film ends though before the 3 Gatti fights. Below is part one of the 1st fight, if you follow the links. Round 9 is up there with Hagler Hearns 1st round.

check out the Vasquez/Marquez quadrilogy.

if you wanna go closer to home it'll be worth your time checking Amir Khan's last fight against Marcos Maidana. Carl Froch/Jean Pascal, Carl Froch/Mikkel Kessler are good ones too.

This may have been posted already, but John Duddy has retired at the age of 31.

Popular Irish fighter John Duddy abruptly retired on Tuesday, leaving promoter Lou DiBella without an opponent for the opening bout to his HBO date headlined by the Sergio Martinez-Sergei Dzinziruk middleweight championship on March 12.

Duddy, a former middleweight contender who lost a one-sided unanimous decision to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in his last bout last June, was scheduled to fight fellow Irishman Andy Lee in the HBO-televised co-feature to the Martinez-Dzinziruk bout from the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.

It was a good style matchup, as both Duddy and Lee are offense-minded boxers, one that most boxing writers beleived would outshine the expected tactical battle between RING middleweight champ Martinez and 154-pound beltholder Dzinziruk.

However, Duddy did not feel the same enthusiasm for his March 12 fight that fans and media felt. And that was sign for him to move on.

"I no longer have the enthusiasm and willingness to make the sacrifices that are necessary to honor the craft of prizefighting," Duddy wrote in the opening paragraphs of the retirement statement that was sent out on Tuesday. "I used to love going to the gym. Now it

I'll add my praise for these, great fights

And these are worth tracking down too

-Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito (Nov 13th 2010)

-Juan Manuel Lopez vs Rafael Marquez (Nov 6th 2010)

-Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito (Jul 26th 2008)

-Kelly Pavlik vs Jermaine Taylor 1 (Sep 29th 2007)

-Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz 1 (Feb 28th 2009)

And I would deffo echo the love for the Gatti/Ward trilogy. The first fight between Jose Luis Castillo and Diego Corrales is an absolute classic aswell.
