There wasn't a character that didn't make me think in some way about their intentions, other than the girlfriend at the start. I thought the ending was fairly fitting as well. There were actually lots of nice touches and a LOT of details in it, and there's a lot of stuff to take in, but it's fairly easy to take in at the same time.

Like Mean Streets is it a gangster movie or just a petty crime movie Anyway The Maltese Falcon 41 more noir but great. A PI gets caughts up between the hoods trying to get there hands on the maltese falcon(statue of a falcon not Han Solo's ride) Double Indemnity 44 didn't like it as much as some do, it's considered by most to be THE noir movie. To explain any of this would give it away The Big Sleep 46 as above really, said to confuse people ie theres alot going on and you need to really watch it and not be messsing around with your mobile. Again i don't want to give anything away, it's another pi gets caught up in shit. White Heat 49 James Cagney at his best. Again it's another gangster noir The Asphalt Jungle 50 the second greatest heist movie ever(IMO) it's the old get a team together for one last job but it's never been done this good Bonnie and Clyde 67 if anyone hasn't seen this slap yourself now! Get Carter 71 as above only harder and with a wet fish Obviously everyone's seen the Godfather trilogy, right? not much else needs saying. Personally i love the 1st Mean Streets 73 the movie that made Scorsese, De Niro and Keitel. Watch this before Taxi Driver. Chinatown 74 just too good. Jack Nicholson at possibly his best and Polanski showing what a genius he is. If i told you the plot you wouldn't watch it. I personally wouldn't say its a gangster movie but some do. Dog Day Afternoon 75 Not a gangster movie but the best heist movie ever made(probably) DON'T read about it they always give something away. The Long Good Friday 80 Watch it before the shit remake. 2nd best british gangster film after Get Carter Scarface 83 You've probably seen this Once Upon A Time In America Didn't like it at all. Its over 4 hours and it feels like it. City on Fire 87 HK The film some say Tarantino "borrowed" from for Reservoir Dogs. It's good but not great. Chow Yun fat was the coolest guy in cinema at this point. The Untouchables love it. Kevin Coster puts together a team to take down Capone(De Niro chewing the screen) State of Grace 90 Underated classic. Penn's never been better and Gary Oldman is SO awesome you won't believe. Like the Departed its Irish-american but in New York. Its a shame more haven't seen it. King of New York 89 i haven't seen it but plan to. Walken at his best according to some. Millers Crossing recorded it the other night and plan to watch this week. The Krays 90 Youve probably seen this New Jack City Hasn't aged well. Snipes as the Gangster and Ice T(yes the Ice T) and Judd Nelson(Yes that one from the breakfast club). Also has Chris Rock as the worst crackhead in cinema. Hard Boiled 92 John Woo at his peak. if anyone hasn't seen this be ashamed of yourself, it doesn't get much better than this. Chow Yun Fat and Tony Leung both awesome. Carlitos Way you should watch this after Scarface and before Donnie Brasco. Its a kind of Pacino gangster ageing trilogy. Great Things To Do In Denver When Your Dead Andy Garcia and Christopher Walken. He hasn't been doing too well lately and has had to turn to loan-sharks to accommodate his failing business, as well as his expensive personal tastes. Casino another Scorsese not as good as Goodfellas but you will enjoy it if you liked Goodfellas. A little over long Heat 95 Nothing to say on this just GO FUCKING WATCH IT. its alright Just stunning and no it's not over long its perfect. Cop Land 97 awesome cast (Sylvester Stallone, Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta & Robert De Niro) underrated by most very very good. Donnie Brasco 97 Completely different Depp performance, a personal favourite everything about it is just right. I Went Down 97 very fun irish gangster movie. Brendan Gleeson plays Bunny, Peter McDonald plays git. Full of twists and slanging matches. Sexy Beast 2000 you've probably seen this. Winstone's retired, Kingsley wants him to do one last job. It's another one of those if you know more it spoils the film. City of God 2002 If you haven't seen this hit yourself with a meat hook. Fantastic Stunning Magnificent brilliant...........................WATCH IT! Gangs of New York 2002 Don't watch it its fucking awfull. While you do post good views about movies that I often agree with, when your posting about a movie you don't like that someone else does, you can sometimes come across as a bit of an arsehole and that stuff stands out....thus people often think of you as a negative nancy.
Steve Justice Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Watched Lord of War last night. It's not an amazing film by any means, but it's OK. I actually thought half way through that if you took away the storyline, you'd have a great documentry. My only beef (and it's a biggy), is that the film is set from 1982 - 2001, but in that time none of the characters age a day. Not even their hairstyles change. And I'm talking no one (well apart from his young son). By the end of the film, Nicolas Cage's character should be well into his 50's-early 60's. His brother in his 40's, and his parents should be on life support. I know a lot of films aren't great with attention to detail, but that takes the piss.

It has no relation to the first movie other than in title (easy way to put a few more arses in seats), its about a guy who has a near death experience and since can see when people are going to die. Nothing new, nothing original but effective all the same...oh, and Nathan Fillion was again proves he can do no wrong

Im pretty sure this is the same mate who believes theres a Dutch version of Leon where he has a go on Natalie Portman. Anyway Groundhog day is awesome and Bill Murray is the man.
