The life has been sucked out of this for me.  Admittedly, not the worst thing Israel have done lately.

Semi 1 is tonight on BBC 1 at 20:00

Semi 2 is Thursday on BBC 1 at 20:00

The final is Saturday on BBC 1, also at 20:00.

Scorecards available from the Beeb if you're playign along at home:

I'll watch the shows, but I've consciously not given Eurovision's YouTube the views, their Spotify the streams, or bought my yearly merch haul.  No idea who anyone is or what any of the songs are apart from Mr Maker being our entry.

Bon appetit.

Without even a Eurovision Pointless I've had to hit up YouTube for entertainment whilst I have my all points of Eurovision picky tea.

Even by our lowly standards though the UK entry was dire this year. Worst since Englebert.

Proper wrestling heat with Israel warping to first place. No hiding the contempt from the audience this time.

I can literally cut and paste most of my post from last years thread and it makes sense.

My heart was pounding out of my fucking chest at that end. Could have got a bit nasty in the arena if the result was different.

UK televote gave Israel 12 points!? As did many others. They need to get this brigading cleaned up. Israel would be lucky to get in the top 10 usually. Joke.

Only differences were we gave 10 to Israel this year so the app votes reducing from 20 to 10 must have made it harder to astroturf the vote.

Also because Israel's telly vote was given earlier it did get nasty in the arena. Fucking hell I think it would have proper kicked off in there if Bulgaria didnt overtake. I expect the EBU to continue to do basically fuck all about it.

I think this was the first year in decades they didnt have a little chat with the EBU boss before the voting started, he got booed last year so I guess they've sacked that off for a bit.

I liked Bulgaria, also Sweden and Cryprus. Sweden especially got robbed. All my favs involve pretty, big bosomed women, this is a coincidence.

I normally defend the UK but we deserved bugger all. Staging was fun but his voice wasnt great and the lyrics sounded like they were written on a fag packet while traveling to the show. Dog shit.

I loved how the Winner had to sing from the greenroom and just wing it to the stage, random other performers jumping in the background, it was pretty joyous. Cool that Bulgaria have never won before, cant be mad at that.

Overall a good, not great year. I probably wont be rewatching many songs tomorrow apart from the ending. I hope the shitcloud that has been hovering over the show for the last three years lifts by next year. Wont hold my breath.

Coming in here like it’s the Raw thread just to say I didn’t watch it this year. Didn’t listen to any of the songs or watch any of the Youtube videos. After getting really into it the last few years I just couldn’t stand last year’s feeling of dread where it became almost a spiteful competition of rather than wanting someone to win, just wanting Isreal not to win despite how much they rigged it.

I saw this morning Isreal almost won yet again and apparently got booed pretty heavily. All I can say to that is good, fuck em. Hopefully the lack of viewership from the nations that dropped out, others like me who didn’t watch it either, and a clear hatred for Isreal’s involvement is finally enough for them to be unceremoniously binned out of the competition.

Osterdahl went after last year and there's no one in that role on a permanent basis.  Maybe they want someone in place permanently before they get booed on camera.

The chaotic energy of that was lovely.  Made up for Bulgaria and it was a banger(aranga).

The EBU keep dodging a bullet with Israel not actually winning, but with 5 countries to go and we're saying things in our living room like "I hope France don't get too many points as it will take away from the pool of points for Australia or Bulgaria to catch up..." I can't see it holding forever.

Edit:  Also loved JJ on the hot mic handing over the trophy "BIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTCH.  BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH.  I knew you would win.  BIIIIIIIIIIIITCH"

Can't see this happening at all I'm afraid. At this moment in time, the heat they're getting from them being in the competition, is nothing compared to the backlash they'd face if they removed Israel, and just Israel, from the contest.

Can you imagine?

It wouldn't be just Israel, currently Russia has been suspended since 2022.

The UK entry was weird, the staging was actually really good, I actually liked the music, but sadly it wasn't an instrumental. The lyrics, I mean what the fuck? I reckon I could come up with better He also didn't have a very good singing voice to make up for it. Who the fuck picked that as our entry?

Sure, but I think the kick off about Israel being excluded from the competition would be markedly different from Russia being kicked out.
