AshC Posted April 3 Posted April 3 So this week it was 25 years since WrestleMania 17. And you're given a choice... you delete everything from the past 25 years in professional wrestling, or everything from the preceding 25 years. Which do you go for and why? Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted April 3 Members Posted April 3 The past 25 years has featured very little Bret Hart. The preceeding 25 years featured lots of Bret Hart. So it's an easy answer for me. Quote
RedTwoster Posted April 3 Posted April 3 If I delete the last 25 years, I’d be deleting when I became a fan. But that little Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind move would also mean I’d have no idea who Roderick Strong was, so it’s very tempting. That said, without the 25-years prior, you remove everything that allowed Conrad Thompson to become a thing, so there are positives either way. Quote

Do we get to go back and rebook the missing 25 years? I think I'd miss Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe if we deleted the 25 years since, but imagine the changes we could make to wrestling if we were allowed to rebook the 25 years leading to Mania X7. Merzbow Posted April 3 Posted April 3 The last 25, it's just in time to save Hayabusa. It sadly also deletes the greatest ever title run from Kobashi and Joe vs Necro Butcher but fuck it. Quote

Paid Members garynysmon Posted April 4 Paid Members Posted April 4 (edited) Post-2001 is when everything started to merge into one for me anyway. Prior to and including WM17 I could pretty much tell you the entire card for every single Wrestlemania. But after that I'd be hard pressed to recall the main event for any particular event, let alone the full card. It really became worse after WM 20 or so though. I've always wondered if that was because of a personal demarcation line because I was starting uni in 2002 and everything just changed in my life, or was it just something about the post-attitude era that made singular events just less memorable in general. To answer the question, if wrestling in its entirety had been cancelled by TV networks in 2001 ala how World of Sport was by ITV, I'd be happy enough still watching WWF Vault to this day. Paid Members 2Xtreme_lives Posted April 4 Paid Members Posted April 4 I would delete the last 25 Years too. I think some things are inevitable amd would think TNA and the ROH era would become a thing but by deleting you could rebook the Invasion and do the originally brand split again thats a good start alone Quote
