Guest Posted August 29, 2025 Posted August 29, 2025 (edited) Karrion Kross is smart enough to realise that he could get by for ages cosplayng as HHH, because no one thinks HHH was a cooler gimmick than HHH. If thats not a world class worker, I dont know what is. Edited August 29, 2025 by Duke Its all about the game Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted August 29, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 29, 2025 I've not watched any wrestling for a while and no AEW in longer but Stephanie Vaquer would get my vote. She's fantastic, got instantly over, has genuine presence and her matches were always really good. Seems to really enjoy wrestling as well and it makes a difference when you're watching someone who isn't just going through the motions. I was impressed by the bits and pieces I saw of Ospreay though. He's still a bit too big move spammy for my personal taste but he came across far more likeable than I was expecting considering his reputation. Quote

I really like Stephanie but she's needs a better finisher. The underhook backbreaker feels weak. Quote

DavidB6937 Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Yeah that's the only thing I'd change about her. Everything else is spot on but it's incredibly anticlimactic. Although after being everywhere they seem to have been pissing about with her lately so not sure what's going on there. Quote
Snitsky's back acne Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Logan Paul. An complete natural. Never had a bad match. An absolute heel with no redeeming features whatsoever. Elicits a huge reaction everywhere he goes. Ticks a lot of boxes. Quote

His promos are pretty absent of substance, and he’s had some duff matches - I’d point to the one against AJ Styles as an example. He was a remarkably quick learner and generally does a good job in ring, but I think it’s tough to argue he’s best in the world right now. Quote

All the people named so far have had some duffers in their time. I guess it depends on overall criteria. Name value, the ability to get a reaction, being able to have consistently good matches - Logan Paul is up there. He can even do flippy stuff, which people like. I'd be interested to see an argument why he is not Vs say, why Will Ospreay is. What does Will do better than Logan? Quote
DavidB6937 Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Might as well close this topic now. Fucking hell. Quote
Guest Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 I just figured we'd reached the "all the best options are gone so I'll just list someone i really like" stage. I did not think anyone would try to claim Logan Paul, who is a remarkable case of a celebrity wrestler being super talented, is on tne level of Will Osprey. I'm surprised Gunter hasn't come up yet. Different strokes for different folks. Logan Paul is not my personal favourite by any means but I can see no convincing argument why Will Ospreay is exponentially better than he is. I suppose it all depends what you look for in a "good" wrestler. Many people thought Hogan was the worst wrestler ever yet all the available evidence suggests otherwise. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Even with people being into different stuff, they're still capable of seeing the quality and ability top tier wrestlers bring to the table. If you can't see the difference between Ospreay and Logan Paul then that's a you problem. Quote

He’s only had eleven singles matches throughout his whole career. Even if every one was a certified classic, he simply wouldn’t have the body of work to be a credible contender for this. After watching the ROH PPV on YouTube, I’m starting to think Bandido might be a legitimate contender. Mic skills are a weak point, but my goodness, look at his body of in-ring work for 2025. He’s had multiple match-of-the-year contenders, and I’m not sure anyone else can say that. I hope, when this ROH title run is over, he’s shown Tony Khan that he’s worth pushing at the top of the card on AEW TV. Bandido vs Ospreay? Bandido vs Omega? Bandido vs Hangman? Yes, yes and yes again. Quote
