They should beat Marlow on the last day but I can't see them getting anything at Taunton.

So it all comes down to Saturday against Gosport who won't be relegated and can't make the play-offs

I fear their -35 goal difference might come back to haunt them.

Should make for an interesting week

Last year 3 of the bottom 6 finished on the same points. Two stayed up. So it could be well be key.

It was confirmed last weekend, but it's the seasons end now for the National League. Boston Utd pulled off a miraculous turnaround. 12 points from safety going into March. Then picked up 20 points from 9 games. Graham Coughlan who came in as manager in November, pulled them out of the relegation zone. And they've survived by 3 points. Their form for the end of the season has been better than third place, Forest Green. All the while, the players are only classed as part time. Next season, they're going full time and can hopefully push on.

So I've mentioned in the main football thread about my following of my local side, Grantham Town.

This past weekend we had a home game in the cup, we were informed shortly before that a long standing fan had unfortunately passed away, he had been unwell and hadn't been seen at a game for a while. With that in mind we wanted to arrange a quick tribute and settled on a minutes silence. With it being such short notice (couple hours before kick off) we had to clear it with the referee and opposition manager. All fine.

Had an impeccably observed minutes silence, full respect shown. Announcement over the tannoy etc.

Cue to an hour after the game, an upset family confronting our chairman in the bar. Turns out said person hadn't died. He was in fact very much still alive, and had been in the upper tier having a pie at the time of the silence (PA system is pretty rubbish so hadn't heard what wss happening) and had in fact observed the minutes silence himself, not knowing who it was for. He observed his own minutes silence.

Had an away game tonight and we wre all laughing about it, and its a great story, but at the time the family weren't too impressed. We go on all the time about honouring people whilst their alive, so there is that, and he got to show respect to himself.

Only in non league.

Tenuous as no non league was seen, but my youngest got to play at Gosport Borough today, and a fine ground it is.

Really nice ground, beautiful pitch. Bar was nice and if you like a drink, a good selection including Neck Oil. Coffee was a Lavazza machine which is always alright.

Didn't have a burger or a sausage sandwich as off meat, but they looked and smelt nice. Think it was a tenner for a pint and a burger.

And my youngests team won 9-1 against a team a year older than them.

10/10 ground visit.

Thanks for noticing!

I will mention it in every thread. Look out for me posting a vegetable chow mein in #Eatclean soon.
