The thing I wish they'd included was the match on Raw the night after International Incident between Marc Mero and the Goon where Steve came out on commentary and dropped something along the lines of "I've beaten everyone you've put in front of me - well, there would've been Bret Hart, but he's gone...". Doesn't get talked about enough.

If Pillman survived, he would've been brilliant as the guy Vince took on to get Austin because he knew him better than anyone. Pill would've been playing along but also having his own MO and getting into trouble with Vince's guys before getting more shots in on Austin.

That's just reminded how much Mike Graham in that match with Liger seems absolutely desperate to make sure Jushin looked as shit as he could muster him to be.

In one of the great “what ifs”, when Chris Benoit and his buddies announced that they were leaving WCW, Mike Graham threatened to shank Benoit. Graham didn't, Benoit went to the WWF and the rest is history.

One thing I never understood at the time was that they wanted to leave because they thought Sullivan wouldn't use them well or at all because he didn't rate them/Nancy fucking off with Benoit, surely Benoit winning the title must've the enough of a sign they were going to be treated better?

Glad they did jump mind as it was mental when they showed up even if it meant Time Bandit Malenko being on my TV

Does WWE own Stampede's catalogue? This popped up earlier and it had me thinking that WWE likely has a master tape of it, I wish the Vault would upload some of the more esoteric non-WWE stuff it owns.

Don’t think i’ve heard anybody refer to him as “Pill” before but there you go.

I dunno, i think Pillman was physically spent and probably needed another year off, which was a tall order at the time.

Man, his entrance music was rough at the time . Wasn’t one thing or another. I remember being really disappointed.

 

I think Battle Bowl could have worked perfect in the late 90’s as Nitro special as opposed to a PPV that people paid good money for.

I'm not sure Pillman was ever getting back to fully fit. His leg was permo fucked I think.

Last I heard, they own the rights to everything in the library except Bret Hart's matches.

Raven Vs. Rhyno at Backlash 2001 is well worth a watch if it doesn't ring a bell for you. 

It was clearly booked as the card's filler popcorn hardcore match but the two lads just sneak a last great ECW match inside it and just pelt each other.
