RedTwoster Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 So…is anyone else watching this year? I’m not sure there’s ever been a housemate who I actively dread watching in the way I do Marcelo. I cringe in advance of him speaking. I also don’t understand the yearly chat of ‘X is being so fake because they’re nice to everyone’ - especially when it comes from a psychologist. Pretty much everyone regulates what they say, if we didn’t behave in a diplomatic way or hold back, the atmosphere would be very toxic. I can’t decide what I make of Lily, and whether or not she’s playing to the camera. I just can’t buy her mixing up ‘psychologist’ and ‘psychic’ - that seemed very deliberate, particularly since she seemed to show understanding of Ali’s career at an earlier point. Quote

I agree with your comments on being nice to everyone, I find it odd Ali is picking Khaled up on this when she's very self-aware of how she's coming across too. I think Lily's comment referred to the task where they did the talent show. Ali did a mind-reading bit (this was on the live feed) where 2 housemates got on stage and had to write down housemate names to questions she was asking, she got everything right. They cut that out of the highlights show but that's why she thinks Ali is psychic. Quote

I could have forgiven Marcelo if he was a young lad, maybe being naive, mischievous etc but just saw on the previous page that he's in his 30's which makes everything he says much more worse. Quote
RedTwoster Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Last night’s show was an odd one, to the point I’m wondering how much is edited out. I realise that every emotion is going to be heightened in such a restricted environment, but Daze’s reaction to Nathan’s relatively tame defence of Khaled seemed disproportionate. And he was kind of right, there was little value in making Khaled feel bad about it, particularly after Martha stormed off - a reaction I do understand, in the heat of the moment. Calling what Nathan said ‘a vicious attack’ was odd, and I understand his objection to those words, given that second hand information could then make him look bad in the eyes of people who didn’t see what he said. Martha got my votes to go. Out of all of the people up for eviction, she’s the least interesting. And I also find her mildly irritating. Quote
Briefcase Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 (edited) All these rule breaks are winding me up and the punishments seem quite tame both last year and this year. Would have been great if Lily & Martha's rule breaks would have resulted in a double or even triple eviction, if they are worried about the number of housemates throw some more in, just this whole sitting in a cage or being tied to the stairs seems really tame and boring. Would have been great to really get serious and even better if 2/3 were going in this weeks eviction, especially as I can't stand pretty much all the girls up for eviction this week. Also Ali is very calculating and comes across manipulative in almost everything she says and does, even with the nominations she was wearing a 'Trans are Humans' T-Shirt in a way where in her mind she wants to appeal and be winning more votes, then a happy face T-Shirt later on when she's in the diary room saying she's going this week, maybe I am overthinking it, just find it really odd behavior. Paid Members Kamran Posted November 2, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 2, 2024 I'd be happy if either Emma or Khaled won, I really don't want Lilly to win. Quote

I want Khaled to win now, he’s responded well to Ali’s obsession and negative narrative, and I find the shite about him ‘being aware of the cameras’ irritating, because to think someone is aware of the cameras means you’re thinking about them just as much as anyone else is. Plus, Ali should stop to think why he might feel the need to behave a certain way and be more controlled (and I’m not convinced he’s doing that) given that the UK is a racist cesspool and it simply isn’t a level playing field. His measured response to Nathan’s moronic comment about him not talking about Palestine enough was admirable and I’m not sure I could have responded so calmly to that if it were me. So yeah, Khaled to win. Quote
RedTwoster Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 After that Partridge-esque moment of ‘storytelling’ last night I may have changed my view. That was painful. As far as a winner goes, I’m going for the write-in option of ‘none of the above’ - it’s a painful year. None of them stand out particularly. Quote

Paid Members Monkee Posted November 5, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 5, 2024 Hanah has to be the most tedious housemate ever. She can’t complete a sentence without using either “literally” or “babes”. It does my nut in every time. None of the housemates have any outstanding qualities. There’s no-one particularly funny or interesting enough to stand out as a potential winner. Quote

Liberally peppering ‘literally’ into every sentence, and then sometimes ending sentences with that word too for no reason whatsoever. Her antics a couple of nights ago were bizarre too, it seemed like it was bad acting but she’s so odd that it may well have been genuine. It was strange either way. 4 hours ago, Monkee said: None of the housemates have any outstanding qualities. There’s no-one particularly funny or interesting enough to stand out as a potential winner. This is exactly how I feel. Rosie seemed like an early contender, but she faded away after partnering up with Nathan. I could see Ali doing well, as she seems to have an online following that decided she was god’s gift from the outset. I don’t like her at all though, she’s pretty unpleasant. I feel like they’re pretty nasty towards Khaled based on her bizarre vendetta, but equally, I don’t think I want him to win. I don’t mind Emma, but I don’t care enough to actually vote for her. I can see why she’s bookies favourite though, given the competition. Quote
Paid Members Monkee Posted November 6, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 6, 2024 Speaking of vacuous people… The two presenters irritate the hell out of me. I’ve no idea who the guy is anyway and I only know AJ because she was on Strictly but did every other presenter they approached say no?! AJ is always squeezed into some ridiculous PVC catsuit that gives so much camel toe that she must be constantly pulling pubes out of her teeth. And, although I’m a fan of teapotting in photos (hand on hip), I’m sure her hip will fall off if she lets go of it. Yeah, I’m not in a happy place at the moment and this program is a good anger outlet for me. Quote

I don’t mind AJ, although the teapotting is a bit ridiculous at this point, but Will Best is about a generic a presenter as you could ever hope to find. He’s a strange choice, and it’s not like he has any real chemistry with AJ. I don’t really understand why he’s there. Quote
