The Masked Poster Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Is Ali a wrestling fan? She mentioned tapping out tonight and The Undertaker. Quote

No idea, although I thought tapping out was a commonly used phrase? Or has wrestling totally distorted my perception here?? Lily’s performative childishness on this episode was really annoying. She got all five of my votes. I’d probably have voted for Rosie if I’d split the votes. Nothing against her, but she’s the least interesting of the people who are up and, against the odds, I’ve warmed to Ali. Quote
Paid Members Kamran Posted November 9, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 9, 2024 I was gutted to see Khaled go and surprised to see Lilly actually go too (I voted for her and BP). I guess the favourites to win now are Ali, Emma and possibly Marcello. Ali seems to have a big following out there so I suspect she could win it but we'll see. Quote
RedTwoster Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 (edited) I felt really sorry for Rosie getting booed to that degree last night. She’s not done anything to merit it, outside of fall for someone who comes across as a bit smug at times, but it really didn’t merit that reaction. If you’ve not done anything nasty or controversial, you’re going to take that as people not liking you as a person. I mean fuck, she had the worst reaction out of anyone this series. With that in mind, I hope she wins. I voted Emma, but I’m kind of regretting it on reflection. Nothing against Emma, but a high-placed finish would hopefully make Rosie feel less shit. EDIT: @Kamran - I’d put money on it being Ali. I was a bit surprised at Khaled going to, he’s so inoffensive I can’t understand why you’d vote for him to go, and he was fucked over a bit by Ali’s obsession with him, which spread. But he came across really well in the interview. Edited November 9, 2024 by RedTwoster Quote
Paid Members Kamran Posted November 9, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 9, 2024 Oh yeah...that reaction for Rosie was pretty bad, I think she's genuine and didn't deserve that at all. Although I have noticed the crowd do seem to boo a housemate when they talk to the house but if that housemate leaves they still get cheers so I think she'll still get a good reaction. I can't see her winning but I think she'll place higher than Shegs/Thomas/Hanah. I think the Ali/Lilly fans were all targeting Khaled to be evicted so I think that's why he's out and now with Lilly out I'm sure her fans will vote Ali to win too. Quote

There’s a daft narrative on social media that it’s a ‘showmance’ and ‘fake’. I mean, fuck me, if you were going to do that, why would you hook up with the Farage-admiring Tory, and why would it have all begun off-screen, during a fire drill? Seeing her upset because she’d always thought she was hard to love and this confirmed it was a bit heart-breaking. I hope the crowd is kinder to her next time round. Bunch of twats. Quote
Paid Members Monkee Posted November 10, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 10, 2024 Marcello is toxic. Twice I’ve seen him gaslight Sarah and turn a conversation around to make her look bad in front of the others. Talking over her when she’s trying to explain or calm things down. I have trouble reading people and knowing when they’re joking or not. If they’re not smiling then I think they’re being serious and can take things the wrong way. He’s done this twice to her now and no-one intervened either time. He did it to her in the bedroom a couple of weeks ago when him and his clique were on the beds and she came in to clear the air about something. He was really aggressive and the others were all giggling behind their hands and it felt like bullying. He was waving his hand telling her to go back to the other side of the bedroom and she was just left standing there. It was really awkward and I felt bad for her. He did the same tonight to her when everyone was in the kitchen talking about Martha. Both Sarah and Nathan said she’d called herself an influencer but then Marcello went off at Sarah. I thought he was being aggressive, talking over and she told him she couldn’t tell whether he was being serious or not. Then he turned it around on her saying she shouldn’t call him her friend if she can’t tell when he’s joking. Everyone just sat there not saying a word. And then 10s later he’s asking her for a hug! I really don’t like him at all. I think Sarah is possibly autistic as a number of her reactions and behaviours (overwhelmed by everyone on the first night, intolerance to noise [Lily], not reading emotions very well) really resonate with me. In this case, getting upset at being called aggressive before gaslighting someone into thinking they were the problem was disgusting. Even his defensive reaction to Trump was done with a level of bizarre anger, before once again trying to lie his way into being right (eg. the ‘pussy’ comments were in his 20s). It stands to reason that Marcello would like a person whose election is partly based on enabling the kind of toxic masculinity that he’s absolutely brimming with. Quote
Chili Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 I'm not watching even though my mate is in it but I'm loving reading Rooster, Monkee and co commenting with the proper "pure snakes, WhatsApp group, DM hun" energy that all Big Brother fans should use to play along. Quote

I was only saying recently how I miss the watchalong conversations before binge watching came in. I mean, I’m a fan of not having to wait a week to watch the next episode in most cases, but I did used to enjoy the live Twitter conversations. I rewatched The Walking Dead recently and remember joining in the tweets on a Monday night when everyone was watching and getting annoyed at Gabriel for leaving the gate open. There aren’t many programmes these days were you can have a collective moan-along with each episode. Edited November 11, 2024 by Monkee Quote

Emma has come across well, she’s definitely not coming out of this regretting that she ever took part. I don’t think she’ll win anymore (there’s someone called Ali who - despite being a bit of an arsehole at times - seems to have a strong following) - but I’d be amazed if she wasn’t top three. That said, it sounds like someone has the chance to take some money and run tonight, taking them out of contention. If it’s her or Ali, they’re leaving the other person with a clear run at winning. There’s not really another contender. Edited November 11, 2024 by RedTwoster Quote
RedTwoster Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 God, what a deflating twist. I absolutely hated it, particularly given that a nice person had a horrible end to their time in the house. I suspect she’d have been cheered had she reached the final. Emma to win now, I suppose. I’d be fine with Ali winning too, she’s grown on me. But she’s occasionally highly unpleasant, so I’d rather see Emma lift the crown. The remaining housemates are so awful that Nathan might actually be my third favourite. Quote
Paid Members Monkee Posted November 11, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 11, 2024 Same! I don’t like the clique of Segun, Hanah and Marcello. They have very high views of themselves and I agree with Ali that Segun’s personality is very curated for the cameras/outside. I’ll be very disappointed if any of them win. Tom is a non-entity who’s just floated in the background too. Definitely Emma to win at this stage. Quote

Coming from a religious community (not a cult, like - where I grew up is very Christian, even if I’m a dirty heathen myself), I really do think Segun behaves like this all the time. That doesn’t mean that it’s not curated, but it’s likely curated towards god more than it is the cameras. I know a lot of people who behave similarly, for the same reason. He’s very dull, though. Hanna, literally, grates on me, babes. She doesn’t seem like a bad person, but her liberal use of unnecessary words does my head in. On the other hand, Marcello actually does seem like a bad person. His toxic, gaslighting, misogynistic behaviour isn’t much fun to watch. Quote
RedTwoster Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Probably just as well that Sarah left that way, given how negative a reaction she’s had in recent days. Tom didn’t contribute much of anything during his time in the house, he seems like a nice guy, but he wasn’t particularly interesting. Nathan’s obsession with people ‘wanting to win’ is kind of odd, it’s a game and it’s a lot of money - if you don’t want to win, what’re you even doing there? Quote
