Fog Dude
The results were up in the initial post on Sunday night, and the table was updated soon afterwards. In a low-scoring round, the top 3 going into the weekend all finished level with each other. Chutney Spoon only did slightly better so he's now 21 points behind a returning Bent Wookie. I moved up a place thanks to match #8, the randomly selected 'wildcard' fixture, a score draw at the Philips-Stadion. That also netted Rory two bonus points, alongside his other three-pointer, the Manchester derby (where most people at least got the right outcome). His D2D was another home win, this time over in Indonesia, but perhaps his 'exotic' choice should've been Nepal since he probably needs a Sherpa and an oxygen tank now, as that bet elevated him into first place! There were no other exact scores to be had this time out, so no further movement either. Elsewhere, victories on the road for Liverpool's men and Rangers' women were generally good for one-pointers, but draws in Spain and west London plus another home reverse at Goodison Park produced a mixed bag of guesses at best, as did the overwhelming triumph for Porto. It was a much bigger margin of victory than anyone could've expected at the Estádio do Dragão. The next card, including another D2D, should go live in the first post imminently. Fog Dude
The final scores went into the opening post on Sunday night as usual, and the new table was figured out right after that. Despite a high-scoring week, there wasn't much significant change. Rory extends his lead by a single point, the only movement involves Tilde leapfrogging joint lowest scorer Vegeta, whilst Bent Wookie had a decent round despite getting his D2D bet wrong thanks to Villa's spectacular collapse at home to Spurs and so moves three points further clear of Chutney Spoon. Reigning champion and weekly best performer MVP RULZ doesn't go up a place, but at least puts himself back among the chasing pack. He also came closest to getting the 'wildcard' scoreline correct, which was randomly selected as match #4. I was the only one who got the outcome incorrect there by thinking The Seagulls might actually progress, fresh off a huge win at Ashton Gate the previous weekend. Elsewhere, victories on the road for Rangers and Inter Milan, plus Hearts' and Chelsea's women – and alongside score draws at Anfield and the Artemio Franchi – all proved fruitful, with only a comfortable reverse by Barnet catching most people out. Wolves' success in a typical late-season mid-table battle against Fulham produced more of a mixed bag of guesses. The next set of 10, in which we squeeze in yet another D2D before the international break and Easter, should be up at the top of the thread very soon.
