Paid Members Egg Shen Posted October 5, 2024 Author Paid Members Posted October 5, 2024 The Kadimagomaev/Mohsen fight being on the main card is a curious one. Neither man has ever fought in the PFL before, and i'm unsure why they are taking up a slot on a PPV main card? It's probably for regional reasons, but i'm trying to figure out of there's another reason why's it's taken that slot. Quote
Kfogg1991 Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 That PFL supercard is absolutely outstanding, I am seriously counting the days. It's made even more perfect by me being in korfu with unlimited alcohol thrown in. Quote

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 11, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 11, 2024 Saw a tweet in response to that announcement earlier that said something like ‘at this point I don’t think Magny even looks at the name on the contract, he just signs it’. It genuinely seems to be the case ? he must be the easiest guy on the roster for the matchmakers to deal with. He’ll fight literally anyone on any card. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted October 11, 2024 Author Paid Members Posted October 11, 2024 He's the ultimate gatekeeper at this point. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 12, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 12, 2024 310 shaping up. Belal vs Shavkat is an interesting one, Asakura coming straight into a title shot in his debut is kind of cool. And…then we’ve got that Luque vs Diaz shitshow that they just had to rebook. Gane vs Volkov 2 and Aljo vs Evloev are on this card as well. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted October 13, 2024 Author Paid Members Posted October 13, 2024 Yeah, love that they've put Asakura straight in there. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted October 17, 2024 Author Paid Members Posted October 17, 2024 Umar needs to win one more then Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 17, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 17, 2024 (edited) Yeah, seems like Merab’s delaying the Umar fight. Been a bit of talk from Umar recently that he wanted the fight before Ramadan in March but that Merab’s trying to specifically push for the fight to be in March, knowing it’s the one time Umar won’t be able to do it. Who knows if there’s truth to it? Wouldn’t have thought Merab would be the type to duck but right from the moment he beat O’Malley and was asked about Umar, he started deflecting the question and talking about Dana and trying to insinuate Figgy into the mix. Umar did say if Merab insists on March, he’d have to take another fight in the meantime just to stay active…and now it looks like Umar’s taking a fight with Song? So you can draw your own conclusions there. In other less surprising ducking news, the original rumoured main event for that Tampa card was Colby Covington vs Ian Garry and Garry said he signed the contract a while ago and Covington went silent. So this Umar vs Song headliner for Tampa suddenly popping up has also kind of confirmed that Colby’s weaselled out of the Garry fight. Typical and pathetic little shitbag he is. Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted November 1, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 1, 2024 Forget the Shavkat/Garry interim talks. Hell of an interesting fight this Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted November 1, 2024 Author Paid Members Posted November 1, 2024 Genuinely thought we might get a Shavkat/Garry Interim fight, but I aint complaining about this. Quote
Kfogg1991 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 I personally think it's extremely worrying that we still haven't got a update from dana with the new main event for 310 yet when it's four weeks out maybe five weeks but it feels like they have struck lucky a max number of times this year with this situation and this main is slightly harder to replace for them, Which isn't a dig or negative they most likely will happily agree they were blessed every time this happened this year too almost immediately get a replacement that is exciting and respectable in that spot. There was going to be a time where Alex Pereira didn't agree without question a couple of weeks out, That situation was always going to have a small guaranteed response for the company and there's not a huge amount of big names too approach that haven't already fought or appeared recently. I'm excited to see who we get though after a unmatched fantastic huge year for them this year as a whole has turned out to be. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted November 12, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 12, 2024 It looks like it’s not gonna be a Pereira fight for 310 and I actually hope it isn’t. As incredible as he’s been, you can only tempt fate so many times and I don’t wanna see him keep jumping in to ‘save cards’ and losing one he should’ve won. Hopefully they just leave him be, let the man have a Christmas and see what’s what in the New Year. Last I heard the plan was to find another opponent for Shavkat and Shavkat himself has been pushing for that. If they manage to get him a replacement, don’t be surprised if we end up with an interim title on the line. Would be bollocks really considering Belal’s just won the thing but I could see them doing it just so they can still push 310 as having “2 title fights”. Not sure who he’d face though and time’s running out now. They’ve got less than 4 weeks. Ian Garry’s already booked now against Buckley on the Tampa card the week after. Leon Edwards is eyeing up the London card they just announced for March. And I think Jack Maddalena is still recovering from an injury. That leaves us with Kamaru Usman or…(shudder)…Colby Covington. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted November 12, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 12, 2024 I'd be alright with Shavkat butchering Covington. Especially if they give it a "ticking-over match" media treatment. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted November 16, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 16, 2024 (edited) They’ve had to switch shit up. They’ve broken up the Garry vs Buckley main event for Tampa and gone with this. Shavkat vs Garry’s a 5 round co-main under Pantoja vs Asakura at 310. No mention of an interim title though. And shitbag Covington’s back and filling in for Tampa… Edited November 16, 2024 by wandshogun09 Quote
