Gooner
How many rounds and how long minute wise are the rounds for the Paul vs. Askren sideshow?
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted April 17, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted April 17, 2021 8 x 3 minute rounds
Gooner
Thank you. Going by what I saw off Askren's stand up skills in MMA and how he looks physically at the weigh-ins I have to go with the YouTuber to win this on points.
Shane O' Mac Version 2
Askren getting paid handsomely here compared to his MMA fights so doubt he really gives much of a shit how this goes. On the off-chance that he looks decent, it'll still get scored for Jake Paul. Probably the same judges that judged Tyson vs. Jones Jr. last year. Stlll hoping for a miracle KO. Ben Askren would immediately become everyone's favourite fighter.
Mr Lawrence
Askren comes across brilliantly. Was he like this in MMA, seems a really cool bloke.

It’s always been a bigger part of his popularity than his actual fighting really. He was a really effective fighter in MMA as well, but the most entertaining thing about him was always his interviews for me. I think it’s also cool how he’s handled the aftermath of the Masvidal KO. A loss like that in that manner would’ve crushed most fighters but Askren took it all in his stride and handled the piss taking brilliantly. Shame he’s about to get battered. While we’re on the subject of taking the piss, Gokhan Saki tweeted this... I’d love to see Saki obliterate the cringeball actually. Edit - don’t know why the tweet isn’t loading properly, Twitter’s a twat. Edited April 17, 2021 by wandshogun09
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted April 17, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted April 17, 2021 (edited) yeh, Askren always had the personality. Weirdly, he did a bit of a Jake Paul himself when he came into MMA, he just wanted to come in and show his superior wrestling trumped MMA, he just didnt do it a freak show kind of way but he would get his digs in at the UFC. He carried it over into the promotion with his "Dana, is that all you've got" promo after he submitted Robbie Lawler too. Askren is the man. Mr Lawrence
He was in Logans Paul podcast and even him and his cronies seemed to be won over. Â Fingers crossed.
RancidPunx
Paul is going to win isnt he ? Â Stupid question but is this being drug tested ? Â Â
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted April 17, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted April 17, 2021 Who knows. The fight will have been sanctioned by the state athletic commision but whether not they have drug testing in place is anyones guess, probably not. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted April 17, 2021 Author Paid Members Share Posted April 17, 2021 State of this shite. ? Because Ben Askren is clearly a typical representation of the best of MMA striking. This isn’t even Boxing vs MMA. Paul’s barely started Boxing and Askren was always an amateur wrestler plonked into MMA.
jimufctna24
MMA vs Boxing debates on Twitter are almost always horrendous.
d-d-d-dAz
God bless Ben Askren. He clearly decided that there was no embarrassment greater than the Masvidal KO, so just decided to monetise his new found shamelessness. Pretty much went how I expected.  Clever matchmaking from Paul’s people, but now there’ll be weeks of tedious discussion about how shit MMA is - as if Ben was anything more than one of the worst MMA strikers of all time.
