I'm neither a supporter of Robinson or ANTIFA. I believe they have a right to say what they say, but I don't like either group.

So you only like apolitical people, seems odd for someone who posts a lot in the political threads on here.

I'm not a fan of violence, Keith. Unless it's in a cage, of course.

This may come as a surprise to you, but voting Tory, Labour, SNP, TUSC, Green, Plaid, Buckethead, Raving Looney etc isn't an act of violence.  They are all ANTIFA parties.

I've worked enough in the past with certain Socialist groups to know what they are, trust me.

I never said I'm "not bothered" about Fascism though, did I? Come on, you're smarter than that.

If you're bothered about fascism, you're ANTIFA.  Given how you said you aren't a supporter of Robinson or ANTIFA, it's a reasonable assumption to say you aren't bothered.  Unless you think that being ANTIFA means dressing in black and rucking with the police but come on, you're smarter than that.

i asked if it made you apolitical because of my personal experiences in socialist politics frustrates me no end. Even when I moved from Coventry to Manchester there was friction as a lot of Manchester members seemed to be in conflict with Coventry because Cov had Dave Nellist and the jealousy and constant questions about him ensured I stopped going to meetings pretty quickly up here.

If you're asking me if I'm "anti fascist" in the sense that I abhor fascism, then yes, I do. But the context I was clearly using was the self-styled freedom fighters organisation that we see at rallies.

I've encountered these people before, with their stupid fucking masks, and their ability to turn a protest against the far-right, where people are protesting peacefully, handing out leaflets and information, selling Socialist publications to interested bystanders and so forth to a fucking warzone within minutes is startling.

Once that happens any support you have from the surrounding bystanders quickly dissipates, as those bystanders become frightened by the way these people dress, and the aggressive, confrontational manner they use.

I've watched many a rally or protest put together, the effort to do so is usually underestimated with permission needing granted from councils and so on, only for a bunch of self-important pricks to show up and essentially destroy all the hard work that others have put in.

So yeah, fuck the lot of them. I wish they'd just sort out a meeting place with their counter-parts on the far right and all knock the shit out of each other where no one can get hurt or caught up in their nonsense.

I fucked the whole thing off when I was watching election time arrive, with other political parties out on the street canvassing, generating support, while we were still sat in a fucking meeting room watching the "personalities" of the day argue about which banner we should be running under, who should be running where and who's name should go on the leaflets.

The whole thing was a joke, and from what I hear today it's even worse. Organising a rally with a list of speakers? You can be sure that with mere hours to go until the thing starts there'll be arguing over who goes on first, who get's the most time, who's allowed to mention what party.

Couldn't run a fucking bath most of them, which is why I think they'll never get any further than the meeting rooms, unfortunately.

Then you are ANTIFA.  The context you are using it in is the tabloid / Alt right description which I credited you with being too clever to fall into that trap of doing.  As discussed many pages ago, being ANTIFA should be a default setting for a human, the press have turned it into a pejorative term but fuck them,  how can being anti fascist be turned into being a bad guy.

I'll try and find a Twitter thread for you, someone had the minutes of a meeting from the early 80s from a Socialist party and fuck me, why you'd join these bunch of clowns after reading it is beyond me.  It's exactly like you described!  Sad to see that some things never changed.

EDIT - Here is the thread, @David, it's like a cringey sitcom!
