Watched a fair bit of the show and just cant get into it the same way I do for the BK stuff. Just wasnt very exciting. Classic Romero performance too, that. Have a stinker for most of the fight and then score the KO.

Third Round Yoel is a menace. Gotta admit I got a chuckle when I saw he got the finish in the third round. Seriously, go through the man’s record, pretty much all his signature wins came by KO/TKO in the third.

Anyone read about Alexey Oleinik's BKFC debut? These quotes aren't nice to read:

Here's the actual fight, shit to see. It's a brutal business.

Think it was only ever a 1 fight deal. That's about as no-brainer a bare knuckle fight you are ever gonna see.

Did anyone see the shit about Frankie Edgar and BKFC? He was supposed to fight Jimmie Rivera on the Perry vs Stephens card on October 4th. I wasn’t in love with the idea of him fighting again at 43 after the way his last few UFC fights went, and especially bare knuckle. But whatever.

It sounds like BKFC pulled some dodgy shit though. Edgar was pulled from the fight for “medical reasons” on fight week. And Dave Feldman’s basically hinting that they were ‘saving him from himself’. The problem is, Edgar’s claiming he went though every single test required of him and was cleared. He also says that BKFC didn’t send the commission his medical results and were being shifty when he asked them, saying they hadn’t received his results, which he says is shite. Obviously he needed the green light from the commission and, for whatever reason, they never got his results in time for him to fight.

The mad thing is, BKFC knew about his age and him getting knocked out his last few fights etc when they originally booked him. They shouldn’t have booked him to begin with but, according to Edgar, he wasn’t even thinking of fighting again until they approached him. He ignored them the first time but they tempted him the second time. He went though all the medical procedures only to be pulled out just before the show. Something fishy about the whole thing to me. It like they never intended to actually have him fight from the start. Apparently they still paid him something but it’s a weird one. Seen people say they think BKFC were just using Frankie’s name to sell tickets because the show was in his hometown in New Jersey. Fuck knows? Seems a lot effort for a few extra tickets.

Frankie talks about it here…

I hope he just stays retired. No desire to watch him take more punishment. But it does sound like he got fucked about here.

Yeah agreed I don't want to see Frankie in bare knuckle it has fucking disaster all over it. But I read about this and he is saying they used his name to promote and sell tickets without any intention of him fighting on it.

This isn't remotely shocking or surprising for a promotion like bare knuckle to do something like this at all

Youre right though, this seems like a lot of effort and to be fair, is Frankie really that much of a draw that they would have gone to all this effort. From what we have seen from BKFC, surely they would just want him to fight. Money never seems to be an issue with these guys, so Im leaning more toward incompetence rather than anything more sinister.
