yeah, easy to forget theres an actual show tomorrow night. Khabib's preperation must be in a bit of a spin because media must be banging down his door, they need to isolate him. Crazy.

Just give Ferguson the LW title. He's done nothing wrong. McG certainly shouldn't have it, and Nurmagomedov should have to earn it after his behaviour as well.

McGregor is basically the spoilt kid of MMA. As alluded to earlier, he's been allowed to get away with so much shit for so long, and has unprecedentedly put the UFC on the back foot (which I applauded at the time, and still do to a degree), he's effectively come up thinking he's untouchable. Not just MMA either - it's been a whole world of people bending over backwards for him, and now he thinks it's his world. I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to with his association with the Irish gangs, either, in addition to the drugs.

The way his career has gone is virtually cliché: the meteoric rise to fame and wealth, the spectacular fall from grace. All we need now is the dramatic turning his life around, and we have a movie. But in all seriousness, guy needs to grow the fuck up. Regardless of what happens to him, his kid grows up looked after, but come on - it's about more than money. Kid needs his dad to be there, not in jail, and, more importantly, needs his dad to be someone he can respect.

Apart from kicking steel poles in front of news crews to act hard and getting injured in the process.

The weigh in happens in a few hours, I still reckon Khabib isn’t making weight.

Well, if the steel poles decide they felt victimised and want to press charges, fair enough.

He's done something stupid, but he hasn't done anything wrong.

Holloway mightn't make weight either considering the short notice and him wanting the fight at 170 originally.

And yeah, Ferguson was dumb as fuck but at least his stupidity harmed nobody but himself.

They were both to be taken by George Lockhart but Khabib pulled out, as its a conflict of interest and who knows what he says to one of them. Joanna is with Lockhart now as well but obviously she has nothing to do with that fight but isn't their more than one guy?

If I'm Anthony Pettis I would try and sneak a backwards title shot just in case, he's nothing to lose besides a beaten.

That's a shout I hadn't even considered in terms of Pettis, I bet he's still cutting weight just in case Khabib/Max don't make it. His record as of late obviously isn't deserving of a title shot, but in these situations, especially after the fiasco surrounding this card it wouldn't shock me.

Not much more I can add in regards to McGregor. He's obviously been spiralling out of control for a while and deserves every consequence he hopefully faces, from both the law and the UFC.

I'm not saying it's an absolute certainty, but there've been all sorts of hints and indicators that he's a nasty bastard, irrespective of the Kadyrov connection. And as @the_mole mentioned, the guy grew up in Daghestan - whilst it's not a given, societies like that, with that level of fear and paranoia running high, have a tendency to breed sociopaths and psychopaths, people who've been shaped by their surroundings to have survivalist mindsets.

Yeh i dont think Khabib is a man to be fucked with. Did anyone catch his 45 min sit down with Ariel earlier in the week? came off well but theres always a aura of seriousness to him.

An interesting little story I read a few days back. Shows the kind of influence the bugger wields in his home nation it seems;

Quote

A pair of gentlemen sporting AK-47s and waiting for you is usually a bad sign.

But for freestyle wrestler James Green, they were the passport to first-class treatment, courtesy of UFC lightweight title challenger Khabib Nurmagomedov, who on April 7 faces interim champ Tony Ferugson at UFC 223 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Green, a two-time world champion and NCAA Division-I wrestler for the University of Nebraska, showed up in Dagestan expecting to wrestle and go home. His armed escort had other ideas.

“They had this other guy, like the English interpreter,” Green told FloWrestling. “They’re like, ‘Do you guys know Khabib? Khabib told these guys to show you a good time – take care of you.'”

And take care of him in the good way. Green and his teammates soon found themselves shuttled around town in an armed car, shopping alone at a shopping center, and gorging gratis while the escort waited outside.

“You don’t want to be disrespectful – they’re like, ‘Eat!’ Green said. “I’ve still got to make weight.”

After the tournament, they had an afterparty and took another trip to the shopping center. One of his teammates eyed a stuffed wolf.

“You want a wolf?” the Russian handler asked.

One showed up hours later as the team readied themselves to leave. A fresh wolf skin, smelling like it’d just been skinned. The teammate shoved it into his pack and they got on their way.

Green laughs at the whole thing now. As a wrestler, he’s used to some pretty Spartan accomodations. For one surreal moment, he got to feel more like a pop star.

Nurmagomedov sure is a good guy to know when you’re in Dagestan.

I watched it last night. Yeah, he doesn't give the impression that he's a barrel of laughs. He came off like a cool bloke but he's not exaclty Matt Serra.
