Most surreal moments in wrestling

So we've got Goldberg v Kevin Steen as a main event tomorrow night and it's got me thinking about other delightfully weird scenarios we've seen over the years

Punk and Nash was mentioned in the Raw thread I believe, the match never happened but I saw the reintroduction of Nash not that long ago and it's nuts to just suddenly notice Nash stroll over the barricade in the background. Even having prior knowledge of the angle, while watching I was just like "FUCKING HELL THAT'S KEVIN NASH". It must have been nuts to witness in real time

Punk and Bryan being precursors to the talent pool we see today had loads of moments that were utterly batshit to people who knew their roots.

Punks ECW debut at the ballroom just comes off as a ROH match. Punk namedropping the indies in his pipebomb promo, and if he'd followed through on his kayfabe threats imagine what other madness we could have seen. And who could have ever foreseen American Dragon main eventing WM30?

Other random stuff coming to mind:

the time WWE loaned Christian to TNA so they could borrow Flair for HOF and Christian came off as the most uncomfortable person on the world

Jericho V Steamboat in 2009 with the dragon looking like he never missed a beat is a really odd but enjoyable viewing

I'd like for more of those WWE C-shows like Velocity and Jakked to hit the network, as it is fascinating to see young AJ and Joe jobbing to Hurricane and Essa Rios respectively. And early Bryan V Cena!

I've also seen Roode, EY, Alex Shelley and pink haired Ambrose working these shows

Ah I'd totally disregarded surreal match victories!

Maven eliminating Taker in the Rumble is an all time classic. And Hogan tapping to Kurt, surely the only time the Woodster tapped or visibly submitted? Similarly him passing out to a Lesnar bear hug was jarring as Hogan + rest hold = hulking up 99.9% of the time

I hear Rico beat Flair on a random Raw, that seems odd

Just seeing a whole bunch of guys "make it" in the WWE who 10 or so years ago you would never ever dream of seeing even wrestle on Raw let alone win championships.

Punk, Bryan, Prince Devitt, AJ, Nakamura and Roode just to name a few.

Imagine going back to 2005 and somebody telling you those guys would be champions in the WWE!

The debuts of AJ and Shinsuke were massively surreal, mainly as they were just so awesomely well done and big-time feeling. I feel like we OD'd on those moments and won't see another debut anything like them for a long time. Maybe when Kenny O makes the leap but tbh I don't think we can replicate the 14-odd years of smark goodwill that made Styles' debut so special

Hogan lost a whole load of times by submission in WCW. To Sting for the belt at Starrcade 97, at least three televised times to Luger.

It was never seen on TV, but the mock beheading of the Undertaker has got to be up there for me.

Bobby Heenan really liking Luger's body for about twenty minutes at the Royal Rumble 1993 was a bit odd. I can never find the tune they used for that thing. WWE used the "Narcissist" theme then it broke into something else when he revealed himself. Can't find that version.

The WHAT? I've see Berzerker try to stab him on Superstars as plenty of us have but.... beheading??

Is this what originally aired, different to the Silver Vision release? Whats on that is Luger drops his cape and poses to generic WBF style workout music, him and Heenan chat for a bit, Narcissist theme plays to close the segment. The theme they stuck with.
