jimufctna24
Kyle Mclachlan Tweeted a few weeks back that Chandler wouldn't fare well in ACA's lightweight division. I'm not arsed if Chandler leaves Bellator btw. Bellator have some decent lightweight prospects on their roster, most notably Vlad Tokov, Gonzales, Soren Bak, and Shamil Nikaev (another ACA/ACB import). With a bit of luck, it could develop into a decent division over the next 18 months or so.

jimufctna24
Please god, let this lead to more BigJohn/Mauro instead of BigJohn/Goldie. Btw, I forgot to mention in the other thread, Showtime is another potential home for Bellator in the future in addition to CBS.

jimufctna24
Bellator now has every notable member of TeamFedor under contract - https://www.sherdog.com/stats/fightfinder?association=FedorTeam Easily my favourite camp in the sport. jimufctna24
Bellator have signed Justin Gonzales, a Colorado based fighter who is supposedly one of the best prospects in the featherweight division. Apparently he cropped up on the Contender Series, but Dana opted not to sign him for some reason?

Checked an article of an interview he did in the UK - yep, he's wrestled since he was 8 years old. He's not a decision merchant though - his amateur MMA career was all TKO finishes, and his pro career's been a mix of TKOs and a submission as well as some decisions, so Plastic Caesar's choice not to sign him is still a bit odd. Guy's completely undefeated in MMA, amateur and pro.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted September 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted September 2, 2020 Probably held onto a single leg longer than 4 seconds or something. Or he didn’t kiss Dana’s big pasty arse enough backstage.

He'll be up against stiff competition though. The Featherweight division is Bellator's strongest imo. It has Pitbull, McKee, Caldwell, Pico, Borics, etc. Edited September 2, 2020 by jimufctna24
Paid Members Carbomb Posted September 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted September 2, 2020 BTW, I'm reminded that Brent Primus fights for Bellator - I always remember him because, well, why wouldn't you forget a guy that sounds like either a camping stove or the Autobot representative in The Office? Looking at his record, he's only lost once, and he won his second-last fight via gogoplata! What's going on with him, why isn't he a bigger deal? I only started following Bellator properly in late 2018, so I am not overly-familiar with Primus. But from what I have read, he barely ever fights and isn't rated that highly. Obviously, there's more to it than just the results - I guess you have to watch the matches to get a real picture, but there's got to be a point where, when you see that many submissions on a guy's record, not to mention a win over Michael Chandler, and think: "Well, he can't be rubbish?" Paid Members WeeAl Posted September 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted September 2, 2020 The win over Chandler was considered by most to be a total fluke though. Weird fight.
