EdgarTheSlouch Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 January 10 2016 - David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief. Fuck.

News of singer David Bowie’s death spread quickly earlier this week causing concern among fans across the world. However the January 2016 report has now been confirmed as a complete hoax and just the latest in a string of fake celebrity death reports. Thankfully, the singer best known for hit songs like Let's Dance or Fame is alive and well. Radio stations up here are posting that this is legit. Sky News has reported it as LEGIT. Fucking hell. Fuck fuck fuck. A legend. His son confirms it now. RIP.
pryko Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Fuckin hell. This was unexpected. Didn't know he was ill
WyattSheepMask Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Just broke on the bbc, I don't tend to believe these kinds of things until it appears there. It's just been in sky news website in the last few minutes so the story does still seem to be breaking. Fucking terrible news if true though, the definition of artist
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted January 11, 2016 Paid Members Posted January 11, 2016 A news-flash at the bottom of the BBC News site appeared a few minutes ago. No stories on it yet. As of 7:09am.
Paid Members Nick James Posted January 11, 2016 Paid Members Posted January 11, 2016 ITV have now confirmed it along with a lot of the newspapers. Not good news to be waking up to.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted January 11, 2016 Paid Members Posted January 11, 2016 I did find it odd that he brought out "Blackstar" after not being around for over a decade. RIP to a legend.
Paid Members Wretch Posted January 11, 2016 Paid Members Posted January 11, 2016 Nothing about it on the BBC as yet, I don't tend to believe these kinds of things until it appears there. It's just been in sky news website in the last few minutes so the story does still seem to be breaking. Fucking terrible news if true though, the definition of artist Confirmed by his son and management. Its being talked about on Sky News right now and has been since 7.
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted January 11, 2016 Paid Members Posted January 11, 2016 Hard to process - was desperately trying to deconfirm the news for nearly an hour, but finally had to give up. Am watching the BBC terribly fail to sum up the totality of how important and influential Bowie was.
WyattSheepMask Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Just seen it on bbc one now. There really are so few icons left now
RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Absolute shocker, can't say I was a big fan of him but there's no disputing how much of a legend he was in the music industry not to mention his many acting roles including Labyrinth
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted January 11, 2016 Paid Members Posted January 11, 2016 I did find it odd that he brought out "Blackstar" after not being around for over a decade. RIP to a legend. His album from last year (or the year before it) was much better than it got credit for
Glenryck Pilchards Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This fucking sucks. No one else in entertainment has managed to transform and evolve as successfully as Bowie. His transitions between Ziggy to Aladdin Sane to 80's Bowie was remarkable. I remember as a 5 year old kid one of my The Video Collection tapes had a trailer for a David Bowie VHS for all his music videos. I was absolutely fascinated by it as he was completely different to everyone else. I wasn't sure if he was human or not! RIP Ziggy (again)
Paid Members Teedy Kay Posted January 11, 2016 Paid Members Posted January 11, 2016 Totally shocked. Bowie (in a world where the word is banded about willy nilly) is a true legend, an inspiration to so many and a personal musical hero of mine. This news has knocked me on my arse.
