fraserbee
Bobby Eaton used to hold his opponent in a headlock bring him over for a camera close up and punch the guy right in the eye. It looked great. Â Another good one is Barry Windham, or Terry Funk too. Â Actually, the majority of pre mid-90s wrestlers threw good punches. This is something the new training facility should be putting emphasis on.
Amazing_Red_Fan
Terry Funk throws a nice one. Ditto Austin (Steve, not Aries).
Mr Butternut Squash
Austin's punches were terrible. The Lou Thesz press brushing was weak shit. With the Rock I could never get past the blatant thigh slapping. Â Bobby Eaton is a good one. Loved the headlock jab he did. Great wrist action. Dutch Mantell, Bill Dundee . . all the Memphis lot. Â It's only now it's been mentioned that I realise how great the Bossman was. Is their any good punchers left? Seems like a lost art.
Paid Members FLips Posted August 8, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted August 8, 2013 Lawler's are fantastic, but those ones against Tazz in Butch's post are awful.
Brian Elliott
I'll always think of Boss Man and Razor when this comes up. Did anyone mention Michael Hayes' short left that was often used as the babyface cut-off?
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted August 8, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted August 8, 2013 Of the current crop, I'm struggling to think of any with a convincing punch, it does seem to have kind of gone out of fashion in WWE. Kane's uppercut has always been pretty good.
fraserbee
Did anyone mention Michael Hayes' short left that was often used as the babyface cut-off? Yes, his was brilliant. It was always sold so well too. Steve Armstrong and Tracy Smothers notably sold Hayes' punch like they'd been shot.
Big Rob
Chuck Palumbo had a beautiful punch, Matt Hardy's were pretty good too for the most part.
Mr Butternut Squash
Yeah Hardy feels like the last guy that made good use of a nice punch in WWE.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted August 8, 2013 Author Paid Members Share Posted August 8, 2013 Chuck Palumbo had a beautiful punch  YES! His superkick was fantastic as well. But yeah, great punches he threw, always looked nasty.
Baz Windham
I concur with Michael Hayes' left jab, it is one of my favourite things ever, just waiting for it to crop up in every match. Oh shit Hayes is the corner, Smothers is running in, here it comes, BAM!
patiirc
Bad News Brown had some cracking punches. I'm not sure if the gloves added to it, but they always looked lethal when he landed them.
Cobra1000
I will always have a soft spot for Macho Mans quick jabs. Undertaker isn't half bad, though he has a tendency to throw a good one, then a crap looking one straight after. Â Does anyone really punch anymore, i feel like everyone just uses kicks and inziguiris. RVD and his forearm smashes are pure rubbish though.
