Yeah, enjoyable seeing the next generation of MMA looking so skilled, hungry and impressive. Another card filled with dominating performances. which are always fun to watch.

I thought DC was fantastic post-main event when he was throwing major hype behind a future Weidman/Rockhold fight. I feel a bit sorry for Souza if he's overlooked after another great performance; 35 too, so waiting his turn isn't doing him any good.

Machida was looking sharp early on, but once Rockhold destroyed him on the ground he was zapped of his karate power. I fancy him against Weidman now, after seeing him destory such a top fighter like Machida. Impressive.

PVZ is millions and millions of dollars. She's hot, but you can see her fighting style really winning a lot of the casual fans over, as it's impossible to be bored when watching somebody with that relentless pace.

Cole Miller is a killer right now. Rogan was spot on when he called it A+.

Great show in general. Skipped the women's bout as doesn't interest me but the 3 other fights where great. Agreed on Holloway he's a potential future star with that performance. It was so powerful and dominant and then to put a finish to it as well incredible.

One other thing of note maybe it's just me or is it with Fox they use slightly different camera angles, I watched this show whilst at the gym on my phone but thought some of the shots looked different, particularly when a bout was beginning? Maybe it was they way I watched it whilst active but I thought it came across as better and added another element to it being taken more seriously as a sport amongst neutrals. Probably was nothing in all honesty!

Nah there's definitely some niftier camera work on the FOX shows. Dana was talking about it a while back. You notice it when there's grappling more, there's one camera angle now where they shoot from basically the same level as the Octagon canvas, so you can see the action more clearly. I've noticed a few different angles and stuff on the FOX shows, almost looks like camera work you'd see more in big TV shows or movies than sport. Looks good though.

Never saw that performance coming from Max Holloway. I predicted Swanson to stop him so hats off to him for the great win.

I didn't expect him to win that handily, but I thought he would do well. Holloway has been promising for years, and has frequently shown top-fighter potential (check his win over Andre Fili). McGregor's victory over Holloway looks more meaningful with every passing performance.

Rockhold is not likeable in the slightest. I usually like fighters out of California, and especially ex-Strikeforce fighters, but Rockhold really gets on my nerves. That said he is legit, and last night was a bit of a shocker (that elbow Wand mentioned was horrible though, it was clear as day).

On the subject of Rockhold, I can't believe it has almost been 5 years since he beat Jacare. Both of which deserve a crack at the winner of Weidman vs Vitor. Even with Machida out the picture, and Anderson in limbo, 185lbs is in no shortage of credible contenders. The division is doing well during its transition period (I.E old faces fading away like Anderson, Bisping, Machida)

I don't think this has been mentioned already, so apologies if it has, but Meltzer reported on the post-UFC podcast that Rockhold had suggested to Dana White that they should do a season of TUF leading to his fight with Chris Weidman. His proposal was to do New York vs. California, Serra-Longo vs. AKA. The idea was for it to build to the fight at Madison Square Garden in December. Supposedly Dana turned it down, but gave props to Rockhold for thinking outside of the box and trying to generate some business.

Meltzer joked that it's a shame Dana didn't go for it because it's actually a good idea. Meltzer is wrong. It's not a good idea. It's the greatest idea in the history of the fucking world.

Imagine a season of TUF with Matt Serra and Ray Longo on one team, being awesome, and Daniel Cormier cutting promos all over the shop on the other. Then you've so got Raging Al storming around, going nuts if anyone dares boo him. Jesus Christ. This needs to happen.

yeh that would be phenomenal, if this new season is successful and they decide to stick with the 'team vs. team' concept im well up for that.

The Fox show was not really filled with great fights, but it was filled with great performances, VanZant, Holloway, Dariush, Rockhold...all awesome.

I am guessing you mean Max Holloway.
My bad.

And, aye, I'd start watching TUF again if that is the season we were getting. Far too many big, entertaining personalities thrown in there (that get the hype game) for it to fall victim to the shows stale format. I'm actually annoyed it's not happening now. Hopefully, now the idea is out there, something happens that makes Dana see the money he's throwing away.

Next stop - Adelaide, Australia;

FIGHT PASS MAIN CARD

Mark Hunt vs Stipe Miocic

Robert Whittaker vs Brad Tavares

Anthony Perosh vs Sean O'Connell

James Vick vs Jake Matthews

FIGHT PASS PRELIMS

Hatsu Hioki vs Dan Hooker

Kyle Noke vs Jonavin Webb

Sam Alvey vs Dan Kelly

Bec Rawlings vs Lisa Ellis

Dylan Andrews vs Brad Scott

Alex Chambers vs Kailin Curran

Vik Grujic vs Brendan O'Reilly

Alptekin Ozkilic vs Ben Nguyen

Now that's the definition of 'one match show' to me. The main event is fucking awesome, the rest...I honestly can't muster up a fuck to give about pretty much any of it, to be honest.

Hunt vs Miocic should be a wild slugfest. Just two big hard bastards. Both can throw bombs, both can take them. It's a great fight. Can't see it going the distance but we've been wrong many times before on that.

Both are coming off losses where their stock actually rose as well, in my opinion. Hunt lost to Werdum but it was on short notice and he was actually winning right up until the big knee by Werdum. Miocic fought a five round war against JDS, lost a narrow decision and had JDS hurt a few times. To me they lost almost nothing in these defeats. They were both expected to lose pretty easily, and they both surpassed expectations and almost won.

Looking forward to this. I like both but definitely hoping for a Hunt win.

The rest, I really can't be bothered to go into much. There's a few fighters I like on the card (Hioki, Alvey) but they're either fighting 'some fuckers' or they're on Fight Pass so I won't see them. I guess Whittaker vs Tavares could be alright. I like Whittaker's style and Tavares is decent enough. Doesn't really grab me though.

Oh well. At least we get Hunt vs Miocic.

typical looking Aussie show, lots of the Oz regulars on board...Surprised Kyle Noke is on the prelims given his popularity around those parts.

Guy to look out for his Jake Matthews. He hasn't had that breakthrough performance yet, and no one is talking about him but that kid is a fucking tank. Genuinely think he's headed for the top 10 of the division.

Anthony Perosh too, don't know why, but i always root for him. I think it's the fact that he doesn't look like a fighter and always seems to be up against it (despite having a decent UFC record), perennial underdog, you have to route for them.

My wee brother treats Hunt like a demi-god after he saw him (and the great pre-fight video package) v Werdum. He could not give damn about Rumble/Jones or McGregor/Aldo, but he's going out of his way to watch Hunt.

Not that he's wrong, of course. Hunt is a superstar and this fight can't fail.

Totally agree. Some slightly interesting stuff on the prelims as a result of watching TUF over the last few seasons, main event and then who cares about everything else. Will be winding through to see the finish for a lot of those fights!
