GPW Kristian Zane Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Seems unlikely to work on the basis that they are talking about doing something as if it isn't already being done which shows they are potentially na
Paid Members Big Benny HG Posted May 23, 2013 Paid Members Posted May 23, 2013 Darlington and York are both very local to me, so I'll be watching with interest. Have they actually said what the 'something different' actually is yet? Or is it that they are a touring group rather than running a single local hall - that's not that different (All Star, LDN, etc....)...
robbo9292 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I thought their difference was the venues (one of which the Coronet Theatre is used by a WrestleForce to my knowledge)
diamond_dust Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Manchester on a Sunday? I'm interested. Â A touring promotion in the winter seems strange as usually they tend to do the summer months. Hopefully it works out for them as All Star etc wont be competing as much. Hopefully this wont be one of these "phone it in, same match every night" tours. I know its hard to plan 9 nights of material so close together and pointless doing storyline based shows when no one will be following 9 nights but often you get the feeling the talent are bored doing the same thing night after night and it affects the match.
jjridpath Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Colt Cabana, Drake Younger, Eddie Kingston, and Chuck Taylor are on the tour. Not a bad set of guys. Hopefully some good UK talent will top that off nicely. Be interesting to see what they do.

Philo_Vance Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I hear that this is being run by Ian Armstrong, of Hidden Talent Booking. He's been doing music promotion very successfully for a couple of decades, but wrestling obviously is a different kettle of fish. Whether a lack of specialist knowledge will hurt him, I don't know- there's been some great new promotions pop up the last couple of years among the stinkers. And if it is Armstrong behind this, he's at least got some money behind him and plenty of experience in running events so I imagine it will be planned well. Must admit to being fairly curious.
kwik-silva Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 There's some stuff up on the Coronet website now: Â 7pm - 11pmÂ
Paid Members JNLister Posted July 22, 2013 Paid Members Posted July 22, 2013 Trinity Hall (or rather the Trinity Centre) is where that incredible Attack Pro show in Bristol was. I'm all for more wrestling here, but do hope that doesn't put off any plans for a repeat Christmas show. Â Â Must admit the crowd last time didn't strike me as the type that would pay
king_dezeeuw06 Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 I really like the guys they are bringing over and the fact you can buy tickets from the places you normally get gig tickets for means there's no chance of a 1PW style run off with everyone cash. Â I do worry though that they are not promoting this much. If they come from a music concerts background they need to realise that when you are promoting a gig the band pretty much directly tells all their fans via social media, websites, fans clubs, etc so most people who go are probably big fans rather than casuals the promoter doesn't have to do as much to draw. While with wrestling a much larger part of the audience will be casual fans who wont know about the show by themselves and a wrestling promoter has to do a lot more.

Most promoters start advertising their shows within 6-8 weeks of the event.
Philjax Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 There was a decent poster for this (the Coronet show) in the pub opposite York Hall for last nights RPW (I so almost wrote RQW). Looks alright......
truthofsin Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Isn't this the same tour?  Tidal Wave tour thread  Curious as to why the York show seems to have gotten pulled. 5 mins walk from my house, so would have been nice lol. No bother though, i'm off to Leeds.
