It's stalled a bit, but I've returned to it following a recommendation: Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. Liking it a lot; hadn't listened to any Southern rap before, so it was refreshing to hear a different style and sound. Obviously, Ain't No Thang is familiar even to a n00b like me, but I also like the title track. Only problem I have, as a completist who can't let things go if I miss anything, it's playing hell with my instincts to just let the music wash over me, even if I don't catch all the lyrics - and with rap that's particularly difficult, as I find I miss even more than if it was singing. Members SuperBacon Posted July 8 Members Posted July 8 I'd definitely listen to this from Three Six Mafia, which comfortably sits in my all time favourite rap records. And some of the No Limit/Cash Money stuff. I'm not gonna recommend whole albums as to be honest I don't like them that much, but Master P - Make Em Say Uhh, Juvenile - Ha, Juvenile - Back That Azz Up, BG - Bling Bling and Trick Daddy - Nann N***a are all songs that I really love. And of course Geto Boys - Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta, shout out Office Space. Quote

Jewbonics and Piano Breaks are well worth listening to as well, and of course the Yoda How To Cut and Paste series. I met them both quite a few times back in the day, and they were super nice lads, and always had time for me and my ridiculous questions like "Wow, what are Ugly Duckling like in real life?" Playful and poetic in ways I think are likely to appeal to you.
