Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted May 4, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) Notice Hogan's deal isn't on there. That's because he was paid from a separate part of the Turner Empire. I think it was Turner Home Video who paid him, and not the wrestling side of things. Something to do with wanting a Turner contract so if it went tits up he'd still get his money (this was before the Time Warner merger).  Here's the rest of the info from the great Chris Harrington. Apparently there's a missing number in the 1997 payroll of Hogan, so that's probably 3 million.  From a different spreadsheet that was part of the filings, payroll/licensing/merch from 1996-2000 is listed. Hulk Hogan is... 1996: $1,930,436 (payroll)+$20,750(Merch)+$17,875 (Licensing) 1997: $330,043 (payroll)+$52,413 (Merch)+$94,856 (Licensing) 1998: $3,635,969 (payroll)+$40,147 (Merch)+$111,945 (Licensing) 1999: $3,756,227 (payroll)+$20,846 (Merch)+$414,497 (Licensing) 2000: $1,447,980 (payroll)+$16,381 (Merch)+$504,727 (Licensing)  Dunno why Hogan's 1997 number is low, could be a timing issue for when he started his new contract/PPV royalties came in.  I'm working on a much larger summary/release of all of the documents that should be out sometime in May. Everything is heavily photocopied and scanned so it's takes awhile to transcribe.  Leo Burke was a trainer/scout for Power Plant.  Randy Savage: 1996: $723,614 (payroll)+$19,879(Merch) 1997: $1,920,170 (payroll)+$1,079 (Merch)+$6,682 (Licensing) 1998: $1,542,680 (payroll)+$4,074 (Merch)+$23,937 (Licensing) 1999: $1,416,464 (payroll)+$257 (Merch)+$219,406 (Licensing) 2000: $143,287.67 (payroll)  Stevie Ray & Booker made about $150,000 to $260,000 annually in payroll from 1996-1998 but both jumped to $609,000 in 1999. However, Booker T got $712,000 in 2000 but Stevie Ray only got $304,000.  Here's the Jeff Jarrett details: Start date: 10/18/1999 End date: 10/17/2002 Rollover Clause: No Rollover  Year 1: $275,000 Year 2: $300,000 Year 3: $325,000  Additional Event Fees: All Events: $2,500 (over 115 days; increases after 185 days) All Events (2): $3,000 (over 185 days. Must be approved by Jarrett.) PPV Bonus: $7,500 Signing Bonus: $30,000  Cycle Period (months): 12 Days Notice: 30 Max Days: 115  Actual Earnings:  1996: $62,788 (Payroll) 1997: $177,788 (Payroll)+$10,676 (Licensing) 1998: $0 1999: $74,452 (Payroll) 2000: $535,621 (Payroll)+$4,150 (Licensing)  That shows that difference between what it may look on paper for someone versus what they actually earned.  Looking at one of my match databases: 1999 JJ worked 21 dates (2 PPVs) 2000 JJ worked 108 dates (11 PPVs) 2001 JJ worked 19 dates (3 PPVs)  The math doesn't match up exactly, but I'm not sure what part of 2000 the payroll data is through. Â Yeah, he was paid under a few other divisions, I assume that maybe it tied into his movies as well.
Ant
Ice Train was still on the payroll in 2000?! Â The low card guys were really underpaid (in comparison). Â I thought Scott Steiner would be on a million a year. Â Bischoff later boasted of how low Luger's pay was when he returned in 95. He must have got some meteoric payrises! Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted May 4, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted May 4, 2014 Ice Train was MI Smooth in 2000. Lost an I Quit match by speaking into the microphone and demanding Norman Smiley say "I Quit", and little did he know ... Â 2000 WCW in a nutshell. I used to watch the 5 hour Nitro/Thunder block all fucking night when I was 15. Such a sad life. Everyone else was out shagging and smoking dope, and here's me seeing if Tank Abbott will join the New Blood.
CTXRussomark
Quite surprised at Bagwell only being on $400k. Seems the type of guy that would have been way more overpaid than that. Like Konnan being on $570k.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted May 5, 2014 Moderators Share Posted May 5, 2014 Ice Train was probably never off the payroll from his debut in 1993. A good 8 years work.
Ant
Ice Train was probably never off the payroll from his debut in 1993. A good 8 years work. Â That's what I was thinking, as surely there was no reason to actively re-hire him at any point inbetween. He must have been in the same situation as Brad Armstrong, whose contract apparently got renewed without him being used much.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted May 5, 2014 Moderators Share Posted May 5, 2014 Brad Armstrong was always around though on syndies and whatever. He worked solidly from like 1987 or something, never really disappeared from TV. Â Ice Train just seemed to disappear for about a year or so at a time. Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted May 5, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted May 5, 2014 Ice Train was probably driving people about and training in the Power-Plant. His "chauffeur" gimmick in WCW in 2000 was *slightly* based on reality.
