Paid Members LaGoosh Posted May 18, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2012 ,as is Brosnans "I though Christmas only comes once a year" quip in The World Is Not Enough.saucy indeed. My personal most hated thing in any film ever.Firstly, Denise Richards plays some kind of super genuis scientist which is fucking stupid enough. She even wears glasses because I guess all scientists have poor eye sight. Then she is called Christmas Jones, which is a name that no one would ever call their daughter, just for the sole reason they can use the really fucking shit "Christmas comes once a year" joke which anyone with a brain could see a mile away the minute Denise fucking big tits bimbo Richards introduces herself as super nuclear scientist "Doctor Christmas Jones".I know Bond movies are supposed to be tongue in cheeck but the whole thing is so fucking contrived, crappy, idiotic and unimaginative. It's not even remotely clever, and when people in the cinema laughed at it I wanted to set them all on fucking fire.
Vamp
Roger Moore never really was Bond was he? He was himself. Which is fine in the series of movies he did, but as somebody else said, they're entirely different Bond films. Although they're good in the fact that they show up Austin Powers, because Moore had already been in far better spoofs in the original cannon. Spoofs of spoofs are pointless. Thus anyone who likes Austin Powers is a fucktard. Live and Let Die is the one with the most awful intoduction of Bond ever isn't it? Where he's introduced using a coffee machine. You've seriously got to wonder what the fuck they were thinking with that. Connery is introduced as being the coolest mother fucker alive in a casino, Lazenby is introduced through an awesome fight scene (admittedly OHMSS is up there with GF and FRWL as really great films), Connery is reintroduced as beating the shit out of everyone to get to Blofeld and then there's Roger Moore in his dressing gown being a complete bitch for his boss. It's more annoying that Live and Let Die could have actually been a good fun film. It's got all the ingrediants, bar the shitty introduction scene and the shitty direction. Some of the chase scenes go on and on and you're left with a dreary film despite the amount of ridiculously cool moments in it.
Paid Members Lefty Posted May 18, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2012 Although it's not a Bond film I'm a big fan of North Sea Hijack (1979). I think it's a must watch for people who prefer Moore and has a stellar cast. Any fans?
Loki
North Sea Hijack is great. Moore plays Moore, but only an irascible Moore who hates women but loves cats. THAT'S character acting. That film also contains some of the greatest jumpers known to man.

Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted May 18, 2012 Author Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2012 I thought I'd seen it, too, but I haven't and was actually confusing it with the Richard Harris film Juggernaut, which is excellent, by the way. Absolutely great cast.
Paid Members Halitosis Romantic Posted May 18, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2012 Am I dreaming when I think we watched North Sea Hijack at primary school, at the after school movie night that was normally reserved for Children's Film Foundation showings? It doesn't sound like a suitable kind of movie, and at that kind of age, experiences tend to run together.
Loki
Â Anthony Perkins sporting a classic ribbed lambswool sweater. Â Â Moore in a daring rollneck ribbed sweater with matching scarf. Â Moore wears an Omega, Perkins sports a Porsche Design piece.
Baz Windham
I feel this thread has been grossly misunderstood by most, I'm under the learning tree and as such have been staring at this image for an hour or so to help with my learning, it would benefit a lot in this thread to do the same. Paid Members Halitosis Romantic Posted May 18, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2012 As I understand it, some old feller found a tuxedo and then took it upon himself to obscure the view of two lovelies. That's not a lesson I needed to learn, I aim to do the same when I'm in my dotage, with or without the fancy fag lighter.

His character on Boat Trip is the natural conclusion of that Bond.
Paid Members Foale Posted May 18, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2012 Never liked Moore as Bond, he'd flinch every time he fired a gun for fuck's sake. Give me gritty, realistic Daniel Craig Bond any day.
Paid Members Snake Plissken Posted May 18, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2012 (edited) Good grief, no one put down Moonraker as THE worst Bond of all time? It quite clearly is. However Moore is my Bond. The Man With The Golden Gun my fav Bond movie. But I believe from a purist point of view that either Goldfinger or FRWL are the best Bonds. Pat so your the person who liked Tomorrow Never Dies. Had to be one I suppose. Edited May 18, 2012 by Snake Plissken
