Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted August 9, 2011 Awards Moderator Posted August 9, 2011 A bloke has been arrested for theft and attempted burglary in Bootle after trying to do over a Post Office earlier this evening: Confirmed by the Liverpool Echo.
The Gaffer Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) From Facebook : Loved a poster on a Waterstones in Ealing: "We are staying open, if you steal our books, at least you will learn something". Edit : Please someone say they saw that advert for sofas on channel 847. That was the greatest thing I have ever seen. Edited August 9, 2011 by Funk Kontrol.
Paid Members seph Posted August 9, 2011 Paid Members Posted August 9, 2011 I'm hooked on channel 847, it's brilliant! He's only two feet from home base. What a wuss.
spurs 4 life Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 He's only two feet from home base. What a wuss. Second ago he was speeding down the road chasing a chav as the police tried to arrest him!
courageous Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Why is it Al Jazeera, I shit you not, are one of the few press outlets to give such a sensible view on the underlying causes of what is in essence collective temporary insanity? http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/opini...m=MasterAccount

Paid Members PunkStep Posted August 9, 2011 Paid Members Posted August 9, 2011 Really not sure what to make of that to be honest. Had a heated discussion with a bloke at work today. He started really going off on one about how they are scum, started effing and blinding which is unusual of him. Then he shouted "They need to send them back home". I had to stop him right there and remind him that from what I've seen, these are British people rioting and that it was a bit of a xenophobic thing to say. He said "British? Look at their faces". Was little point wasting my time further with someone of that opinion.

Was in good spirits for most of the night, all races running off any trouble and police were thankful they had us there to help. The Tottenham Hotspur firm turned up and said a few racist things but other then that it was amazing to see so many people out helping the community.
Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted August 9, 2011 Awards Moderator Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) Halewood (south Liverpool) Labour Club on fire according to this picture, but it's hard to make much of it: On the whole, it's been quiet round here apart from this and the Bootle JCB nonsense. Great police presence in town and the outskirts. If rumours were to be believed, half of the city is on fire. But thankfully it appears to be in decent shape. Edited August 9, 2011 by Frankie Crisp
King Pitcos Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Saw on Twitter someone saying that Tesco Deysbrook had been on standby in case they had to close early today. I'm sure that's standard for all supermarkets in the affected cities (and probably every city in the country), but was still odd to see someone saying that. It's only round the corner.
