There's a fair bit of moaning on twitter about the Muse confirmation

Are they not br00tal enough or something? I wonder how many people actually went to see Dying Fetus this year.

I wasn't one of them for the record, I couldn't give two hoots about them either way.

It says something that Download can attract an act as big as Muse for their festival (didn't they headline Glastonbury one year?), but people will always see a vaguely mainstream act as some kind of invader.

If they don't want to see Muse, stop bitching and go watch someone else

If they don't like big name bands they even have other festivals to go to, the bitching is just pointless. But to be fair Bloodstock has the same crap going on, ultra elitests moaning that there's not enough one man suicidal black metal projects on the bill.

That's what put me off going back to Bloodstock for so long, elitists moaning that a band wasn't tr00e metal! And this is back when it was a predominantly power metal festival. You get them everywhere, and there's no point getting wound up by them cos that's what they want.

 

Hellfest in France have released their 2015 lineup

Interestingly Muse have booked themselves into a lot of Euro fests that normally favour heavier bands. Andy Copping has said Muse wanted to play Download this year to support their new album, which is apparently their 'heaviest' to date. Given Muse are one of the few bands that have surpassed festivals it's a sweet deal for Download. They could've easily gone down the Foo Fighters route & booked a bunch of stadium shows & raked it in.

Man, that Hellfest line-up is the perfect mix that everyone should be happy with. I really want to go to Roadburn next year, it's usually a great mix of doom metal and weird electronic artists and next yeah they've got Goblin scoring both Susperia and Dawn of the Dead.

It'll be Bloodstock again for me this year.

 

Loads of people are banging on about Hellfest on facebook, its a hell of a lineup granted but theres very little on that bill i aint seen over here, and at the end of the day theres only so many bands you can watch.

 

Is the Hellfest capacity really 150,000? That puts me off haha.
