Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted October 16, 2009 Awards Moderator Posted October 16, 2009 I thought it'd be worth having a thread to post and discuss the less significant news items from around the world, rather than new topics popping up every couple of days and then dying out in a matter of hours. Â So that's what this is. Â I'll start off with the astonishing story which is on Sky News right now: Â Baby in pram gets twatted by train. And survives.
Paid Members FLips Posted October 16, 2009 Paid Members Posted October 16, 2009 It's making it's way around uni, fantastic isn't it?. It's a special type of lucky.
freaky Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 It's a truly terrifying story. Your heart skips a beat when you see the train approaching.
Just Me Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 In other news, an Australian charity shop now has some Thomas the Tank Engine videos going cheap.
Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted October 16, 2009 Author Awards Moderator Posted October 16, 2009 What turned my stomach was the sheer desperation of her slipping and she reaches out to grab the pram and then the understandable reacton when the train hits. I honestly couldn't comprehend what must have gone through her mind as she saw what she believed to be her child's death. Â Someone up there was looking out for that kid. Â When he grows up, that boy will be the cock of the school in first year senoirs."Fuck off, I can take a train".
Paid Members JLM Posted October 16, 2009 Paid Members Posted October 16, 2009 Wow. Â The timing was horrifying, but you also have to feel a bit relieved, not just because of the child's extremely unlikely survival but also because if she had been given even two or three more seconds to react she'd have been on the track trying to save the baby and then been hit by the train herself. Scary video to watch but also a very nice story due to the near-miraculous aftermath.

Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted October 16, 2009 Paid Members Posted October 16, 2009 Is the child named Clark Kent by any chance?
Steve Justice Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Pretty much alredy been said but even though you know he's fine, you still get that sick feeling in your stomach when it happens. The worst part for me is the mothers reaction because you know how much she is screaming. I would probably throw up to be honest.
Adam G Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Yeah, thank god there wasn't any audio, her screams would have been horrible.
Paid Members Green Posted October 16, 2009 Paid Members Posted October 16, 2009 This further proves that Australians are hard as nails. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the third train to run over him this month.

You'd think she'd watch where she left the pram after the first couple. Maybe it's become a game though, like stone skimming.
Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted October 16, 2009 Moderators Posted October 16, 2009 Vigo the Carpathian will soon be making his return.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted October 16, 2009 Moderators Posted October 16, 2009 I got kinda confused what thread I was in for a second.. all that talk of Moldova in the Gately thread had me thinking about Vigo..
