i'll get Black Death when i get chance....Centurion is a similar low-budget British movie that's worth a viewing. Valhalla Rising is another one that came out fairly recently too, i wanna see it.

Saw The Odd Couple for the first time last night. I really enjoyed. It was brilliantly performed throughout and while generally more amusing than LOL funny, it did have it's moments. Jack Lemmon is just incredible in it. I particularly loved the exasperating scenes around the card table. The theme is catchy too.

My final of the 3 for 3:

Iron man 2

Well id allready seen it, but its a total geek-fest for me, and im sure many others. I wont get into which is the better film of the two (as i really couldnt say.), but of course Mr downey Jr rocks it up in this film, as does the actor who plays Justin Hammer, as i found myself so annoyed at how just.....pathetic he is, which then made me realise hes either a great actor or actually like that in real life. I'll go with actor to be nice!

As for the geek-ish ness, of course he has the suit-in-the-brief-case like from the old cartoons, and thus i nearly jizzed in my pants, and also of course.....WAR MACHINE!!!! Also adding in a breif cameo of captain americas sheild, (and the secret ending with thors hammer!!!).

Bar that some great stuff from micky rouke as always, and otherwise some great action all round.

8/10 deffo worth a watch/buy/rent!

Agree about the geeking out over the hammer and the shield, that was pretty cool. War Machine, cool as all of that was, didn't get nearly enough of a slice of the action for me. For instance, that little battle at the end, I thought it could've lasted a little longer. But each to their own. I also felt a lot of the action took a while to come to fruition, whereas the first film had much better pacing and in my opinion a better story to it.

This is true, although i think in fairness the first being an "origin" story, it was bound to be set a certain way....mainly to last 2+ hours? Where as this one was builing on what was allready there, and although i do agree the battle could of been longer, in "movie" terms.....i think it was about right.

Totally agree on the war machiner front though!

watched From Hell for Halloween as my girlfriend wont watch a horror movie and this was about as close as i could get (due to her love for Johnny Depp). I've seen it once before but id forgotten the whole thing. I enjoyed the fuck out of this, it might be a little slow for some people, but Jack The Ripper fascinates me, so it's cool to see a take on one of the theories behind the case. Ian Holm was fantastic, one of the most underrated killers in recent movies.

also got around to watching my Blu Ray edition of Dawn of the Dead, not much to say about the movie as it's already been said before but the Arrow Edition of the film is very good, 3 versions of the film, stack loads of extra's. I'm working my way through it all and it's nice to see such a definitive version of the movie released. Gonna try getting my hands other Arrow releases (starting with the Battle Royale Blu Ray coming out). Even if i don't love a movie id pick up these releases for the stuff that comes with them, sometimes the stories behind the films are better than the movies themselves.

Worth a watch if your a fan of the old films, (wont be as over the top as the older ones like), but again not to bad.

I felt completely the opposite.

The film is completely pointless if you're a fan of the old films.

I'm with Bowyo T, I love Robert Englund as Freddy and if I had my way he would have returned to the part, but that's just not doable and the original has aged terrible. I thought this was a really good reboot to the series and while there were plenty of nods to the original it wasn't a straight out remake.

I could pick it apart, I could say the idea of Freddy as a paedo rather than a child killer wasn't so good, and didn't really give a decent explanation for why he has the glove, but the fact is, byt switching my brain off a little I really enjoyed this film. The only way I can see this as a pointless remake is if they don't follow through with some sequals.

I didn't really think much to this film, for me the best Jack The Ripper film I've seen was the Michael Cain one, well worth a watch if you haven't seen it. I too am fascinated by The Ripper.

I assume this is the original Dawn of the Dead? I've been thinking about getting the Blu Ray of this but I already have a special edition DVD but I can't remember whats on it. Is the Blue Ray edition really worth getting?

So we went to see 'Dispicable me' last night and regardless of it being a 'kid's film' I loved it, the writing and direction was perfect and I advise everyone to see it.

I went expecting it to be good for a giggle and little more but it was full of emotion and good stuff, Im not too proud to admit I shed a tear at the end too.

Anyone else wanna share the love?

If your a fan its pretty much the definative must have edition. The only way I could see it being topped is if the Argento and DC cuts are ever released on Blu Ray as they are both presented here in standard def on DVD. However from what I've read the available elements for those cuts arn't close to be being up to scratch for a good Blu Ray.

The Theatrical cut looks as good as it could possibly look in all its remastered HD glory. Keeping in mind that this is a low budget 70s zombie film we are talking about. I mean it doesn't suddenly look like 300 and nor should it. Which is good because it would make me want to riot. It looks exactly as it should.

I also have City of the Living Dead by Arrow and thats also cracking. They really go the extra mile with there releases. A bit like Criterion except region free, UK based, reasonably priced and specialise in Genre films. This month sees the release of there frankly boner inducing limited to 10,000 copies, 3 disc, Limited Edition Battle Royale and A Bay of Blood both on Blu Ray. Both of which I'm preordering. They are so good I plan to get all there Blus sooner or later.
