Paid Members Murtz Posted October 5, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 5, 2012 I'm torn between watching Killing Them Softly or Looper tonight. Help!
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted October 5, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 5, 2012 Looper was disappointing. Go for the other one.
Polish Dad
Looper was okay, Killing Them Softly is my favourite film of the year. No-brainer.
Cobra1000
I enjoyed them both pretty immensely, you cant go wrong really, no matter what these lads above me say. Brad Pitt and that lad from Monsters putting in pretty class performances or JLG being great and weird looking! Â Saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower the other day as well, thought it was fantastic. Its pretty heartfelt also incredibly funny, Ponytail Derick or Emma Watsons brief college boyfriend almost steal the show but Ezra Miller is amazing and gets some fantastic lines. Logan Lerman is fantastic and so is Emma Watson aswell. Shes kindof mesmerising at times...Super soundtrack aswell and you can also add it to the list of good Paul Rudd films. Paid Members JLM Posted October 5, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) It isn't. I think it might be brilliant and that I might hate it. I've no idea what to think anymore. Â I have just watched the first fifteen minutes of this and it is possibly the most unbearably smug opening to a film I have ever seen. I can feel it winking at me as I watch and questioning whether or not I get it and I want to punch it in the face. I want to punch this film in the face. I'll see it through because if I watch the first twenty minutes of a film I feel obliged to finish it, but I haven't felt such revulsion towards a film after just fifteen/twenty minutes for some time. Everything so far seems to have been made by cunts for cunts, and I am usually loathe to use that word. Edited October 5, 2012 by JLM

Loki
Sounds a little bit like Brick. YES, I FUCKING GET IT.
Jambo
I watched The Hunger Games last night having read the book, and without trying to sound like one of them pompous cunts who insists books are always better, the book in this case is. The film isn't in-depth enough with putting over Catniss's hunting prowess before the Games, and doesn't explain her regular life well, which meant I switched off before the actual Games even started. Paid Members CuckedByMenry Posted October 7, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 7, 2012 Just watched Looper. It was different from what I expected: Â <-- click on 'spoiler' to show/hide the spoiler I went into it with the thought that it was going to be young Joe and old Joe joining forces to prevent their death. It was pleasantly surprising to see that they'd be against each other. When they started talking about the Rainmaker, I figured it would be someone in the same age bracket as Joe, not some child with magic powers who lives on a farm, resulting in half the film being on the farm. I fucking hate farms. Why couldn't they have kept it in the city? I much preferred the first half, although I did like the moral of the story/"The lengths that people would go to" ending. Part of me is still disappointed that it wasn't my anticipated Willis and Levitt tag team, time-changing mega battle...with sexy results. Â [close spoiler] ");document.close();

Paid Members gmoney Posted October 7, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 7, 2012 Sounds a little bit like Brick. YES, I FUCKING GET IT. Â Urgh. I want to knock that films' quirky hat off and kick it in the arse. Unbelievably shit and irritating film.

I want to knock that films' quirky hat off and kick it in the arse. Unbelievably shit and irritating film. Â Mrs Small keeps trying to get me to watch this. She watched it once when she was away supervising a school trip and she said that practically everyone hated it and/or fell asleep but yet is quite sure that I'll love it. Â I'm quite sure I won't. Joseph Gordon Levitt has failed to convince me so far that he's much more than a reserve Keanu Reeves.
Paid Members gmoney Posted October 8, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 8, 2012 I like Gordon Levitt in the main, in fact I watched Brick because I'd just seen The Lookout and found him very likeable in it.It would be impossible for anyone to be remotely likeable with Brick's script, however. Iron balls McGinty
Had the Bond channel on since Friday, amongst others i've watched Casino Royale 3 times and Quantum of Solace twice. Then i watched Layer Cake for the first time, i do believe i'm starting to warm to Daniel Craig. Â Layer Cake was particularly enjoyable, i can see why it got him the Bond job. Got the Indiana Jones Bluray boxset today so that'll be next on the list to go through.
GalaxyV.2
There was supposed to be a Layer Cake sequel I believe, but due to Craig being Bond and Vaughn being big in Hollywood right now, it seems unlikely.
