This is true.

Another good result yesterday. As long as they can keep hanging around mid-table I'll be happy. Shame whatshisface couldn't have clung to the Burnley job for a couple more weeks with the East Lancs derby on the horizon, although this new chap appears to have started the way the last one finished. Somebody should show the people that run the club what Swiss means in the Profanisaurus

Is he after a longer sentence or something?

Wasn't the main villain in The Batman the Riddler?

Wow, what an experience Godzilla Minus Zero was. I didn't expect them to go there with their choice of villain, but it was done really well. The stakes escalated, sneaky Americans with their nefarious scheme. The underlying theme about running/hiding front your trauma was there. These Godzilla movies are always about the emotions and feelings of the characters, and the monsters turn up and have a scrap. The professor's obsession with avenging Hiroshima, Noda and Aoyama wanting to make amends for their past failures. Noriko accepting herself after what she went through. Koichi right there by her side as they go through it all again. It's always the people's story, Godzilla and Co just happen to be there for the exciting monster fighting fun. I don't know where they'd go from here, or whether you would go somewhere from here. Some kind of 1950s or 60s American built Mecha-Godzilla? Biollante, as was teased for this one? Mothra? There are options. Cast somebody as an older Akiko? This iteration of Godzilla feels like it needs to be more than just "a monster has turned up, how do we send for Godzilla?" It's about Koichi, Noriko and Akiko and how Godillza etc impacts their lives. I guess you could do something about the fugitive lifestyle and how everybody around you just wants to use you, combined with having to step up and do your bit, but some of that would just reread this one. It works as a little two hander., and I don't think we need any more from here, especially since they've done pretty much everything that needs to be done in terms of Godzilla and enemies. Let this be its own cycle and leave it in its own bubble, like Shin Godzilla, and the other Godzilla eras before it. Sorry for the essay. Best movie I've seen at the cinema all year. How To Rob A Bank looked like it could be entertaining from its trailer. Not sure what to make of that Danny Boyle film about that shitty newspaper.

However else would you have a quattro formaggio?

It is a fun game. I'm at my first Magic The Gathering Prerelease in almost twenty years on Sunday with some friends who are also Magic/Star Trek fans. I'm usually dreadful at them, although during the first Mirrodin block there were some card mechanics and deck designs so simple I managed to win prizes back with them, but had no such luck during the following block: Time Spiral. I'm hoping against hope I manage to end up with the cards to assemble something resembling a Borg deck, as that feels like it could be useful. It's a question of seeing what multicoloured cards I get and hopefully being able to build something around them. Also I'd love if I got the Chief O'Brien card, even though I think I'd have to go white/blue if I was to do something with him outside of the prerelease. We'll see what happens. I'm sure it'll be fun regardless.

It's Psalm 23: The Lord Is My Shepherd. The Daily Telegraph, several Christian news sites and the Huffington Post are reporting it.

Wow. That's no age.

I heard that somewhere. I wonder whether Mike Read wrote it for him.

Was there another sex predator on trial at the same time? When those allegations surfaced after the Andrew Sachs thing he was on the right wing grifter train like a shot.

It's a very difficult act to follow.

Might finally find his favourite verse.

I'm seeing it on Saturday afternoon at my local Vue because Vicky gets a code for a free ticket there every month. Just got £7 in (self earned) club card vouchers as well which will more than cover some snacks and a drink.

One for the motorsports fans amongst us, but former F1 world champion Alan Jones has passed away. He was champion for Williams in 1980 Former F1 champion Jones dies aged 80 - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/articles/cmd9345vdy8do

Oh I know, but your point is entirely valid.

@FLipsyou're absolutely right. The first one randomly played while I was watching and autoplaying fighting game videos on YouTube and it was fascinating, so has then found its way into my algorithm but that's no excuse. I find them interesting from a machine learning point of view, but again that shouldn't be any justification for watching these kinds of things.

Vicky has been enjoying that cranberry mayonnaise they've been selling in Aldi. She picked up quite a few bottles.

I have been watching a series where somebody has been getting ChapGPT playing the SNES version of Street Fighter 2 as each character. He gives it a little guide to how to do the moves, then runs it a couple of frames at a time so "Sol" as it's been named has chance to try and figure out what to do in the situation it finds itself in. It's been an interesting series. Struggles a lot figuring out where Vega (claw) is when he does the cage climb. Presumably as a little tribute to Justin Wong it won a lot of rounds as Chun Li by establishing a life lead then running down the timer. So far it's done the best as Guile, but Guile is arguably broken and the best character in original Street Fighter 2. The channel creator has said at some point they're going to try it with Super Turbo instead, which has super cheap input reading enemy behaviours.

Maybe the sandwich shop is near a church on a hill. This is actually the second draft because the person who made the poster was looking for cheaper car insurance beforehand. Ooooh yes.

I had a Rustler's donner kebab last night. Weird presentation, chilli sauce and garlic mayo sachets. Gave it a minute in the microwave. It was alright. I got it for a quid in the reduced section at my local Morrison's. I don't think I'd pay full price for it, but it was alright.

Didn't Adam Richman starve himself for a day before and spend the day of the challenge exercising and the likes to work up an appetite when he did that kind of stuff for Man Vs Food?

Thanks you @RedTwoster, I try but my ramblings aren't a patch on the retro gaming love letters @FLips composes.

I've got the new Primal Terror DLC for Brotato. It gives the game another whole new lease of life. A new level/set of enemies with the jungle, more characters with their own mechanics, new items, new weapons and new pets. The new Jungle stage is dinosaur/prehistory themed and has hazards such as holes in the ground to limit how freely you can move around the stage, which can add a whole new dimension on higher danger levels with more enemies and projectiles flying about. Some of the new characters are things like the caveman, the survivalist, which feels a bit like a Predator nod with how his mechanics work and he has to open the trasure chests/crates to find weapons. Or the archaeologist who has to dig up treasure and materials on each stage by staying in little dig areas. The biggest new change is the evolution mechanic. There are new mutation/mechanisation items that get dropped alongside the fruit and the chests in the levels, and a mech/mutant bar. If you pick up mutation points your evolution bar will go into the negative points, and you character develops a "tumour" which copies random effects from your character traits, items, and pets, or it mutates and cancels out the negative effects of your items or pets, so on my attempted beastmaster run one of my traits is that the character gets +2 movement speed for every pet on the field. My mutation gave me an additional +1 per pet, which meant my speed was incredibly high eventually which led to me not being able to keep up with where my character was and I ran into too many enemies. If you pick up mechanisation items the evolution bar will go into the positive and allow you to mechanise your weapons by picking up little circuit boards which accumulate like a second currency you can spend in the between level shops to add upgrades to your weapons which give extra buffs to your stats. So you'd use some mech points to upgrade your gun, which would give you a choice to boost, for example, your ranged damage or your maximum HP. You have more control over the mechanisation than you do the mutation, and feels like you could easily end up with an overpowered build, but it'll probably be much harder to come by the up/downgrade points on higher difficulty levels. The number of mutation/mechanisation points will also lead to mutant/mecha weapons and items appearing in the shop, and mutated and mechanised enemies appearing in the levels as well. It's a whole new way of playing the game. There's also a feature that allows you to turn off the items you don't like by edition/DLC. If you're not a fan of the pets you can turn the paws and claws content off, It's £3.99 on Steam, although it was £3.05 because they sold me a bundle including it, but removed the price of the other stuff and hgave me a saving. Console version is scheduled to arrive in January. It's different from a Vampire Survivors, but not too different. Definitely going to keep me going until Warhammer Survivors arrives next week, if not longer. It's not as if there's anything else important coming out this month, unless you're excited about that Digital Eclipse Barbie compilation...

How do they make money on the sandwich if it's free for people who eat it all, and £20 going straight to the veterans charity for people who don't? Either way it's still a free sandwich, you either eat it all in one or for a £20 charity donation you can take the rest home with you for leftovers.
