  1. It's what they'd call the tag team of Big Show and Albert in Hull.
  2. I used to get their books out of the library when I was a kid, and saw a few episodes of a cartoon they were in on one of the satellite kids' channels. I don't think they were a huge thing here, but they were definitely a thing.
  3. It always comes back around to the Berenstain/Berenstein Bears.
  4. She was well cast. The lady that played Juli was good as well. It felt more like an Alpha movie, but I guess this is the way we can do a Street Fighter II live action movie in the sequel. The chronology would work a little better as well. Explains Cammy in the Killer Bee/dolls uniform as well.
  5. I've heard Tommy K said, and Macky Ds and Platty Jubes, but if somebody started talking to me about a Jackie P I'd think they were talking about one of their neighbours. I've occasionally called a jacket/baked potato a "bakey tatey" for some inexplicable reason but couldn't possibly tell you why or where I picked it up from. Menty B sounds so horribly reductive and trying to trivialise what could be a serious thing.
  6. You shouldn't need something like that, people should know how to behave in cinemas.
  7. Some of the fun of going to something like All In is the queueing and just people watching. Vicky and I were on the way somewhere the other day and while we were waiting for a connection at Manchester Victoria station there was a platform alteration as one of the trains was arriving, so people had about a minute to make it from their platform to the new one, which isn't the easiest of things at Victoria with the stairs, and even trickier if you have to wait for the lift. Happens at Blackburn now and again, but that's only really tricky if you've got to get to/from Platform 4.
  8. Is it new episodes of The Mole or the original ones from 30 years ago that they used to put on channel 5?
  9. I think I copied all my emulators over to my not-college laptop so could probably just fire up WinUAE for the Amiga version. If just end up playing Cratermaze on PC Engine though.
  10. He's a very happy boy.
  11. I do have a lot of nostalgia for Robocod, but even if there wasn't a stink of AI all over that collection I refuse to pay £70 for a game that it'd probably take me longer to reliably download and emulate that it does to finish. Whole thing can be done in 2 minutes.
  12. I do wonder whether half of this is people seeing how well the Gold Master stuff does and thinking "we can do this without Digital Eclipse" and then getting AI in to do all the donkeywork. I also wonder whether this Dizzy collection is limited because of the EA/Codemasters buyout and how difficult it could be to get all the rights etc in the right place. Mind you they've stuck some stuff out on Evercade. There are better ways of doing this. If Digital Eclipse thought there'd be money in it they'd have done a Gold Master series about Dizzy by now. I suspect we here in the UK of a certain age have, if you'll excuse the choice of words, overegged Dizzy's significance in gaming history.
  13. I'm less excited about the new Dizzy game after discovering the Oliver Twins appear to be using generative AI in their promotional stuff. https://www.timeextension.com/news/2026/09/of-all-the-genai-slops-youve-ever-seen-this-is-the-sloppiest-of-them-all-the-oliver-twins-tarnish-their-legacy-further-with-wizard-of-oz- They're also opened a Kickstarter for a compilation of the Megadrive Dizzy games. They should just let Digital Eclipse give them the Gold Master series treatment. If it works for Jeff Minter and Karateka it'd surely work for the Dizzy games?
  14. That was the other musical anachronism. Ryu listening to it in 1987 is almost as anachronistic as Baha Men, and I'm pretty sure More Human Than Human by White Zombie was post 93 as well (it was 95, Black Hole Sun was 1994). As great as the soundtrack was, none of it was from the right time. What's Up came out in 93. The soundtrack is good, but terribly inaccurate.
  15. I've got everything else, including Wonderland on my XBox. I've got the Pandora's Box on Switch as well so am cracking through on there as well, when I can tear myself away from Vampire Survivors and Brotato. New Brotato expansion Primal Horrors is out next month. It's dinosaur themed.
  16. Started playing through Borderlands again. Vicky was watching me play the other night so I've picked up a pad on eBay and we're going to start a split-screen co-op playthrough and work through the whole series, although I've not got 4 yet. They do go on sale pretty frequently though, so I'm sure I'll get it for a reasonable enough price when we do get a bit closer to it. I'm playing through as Roland, having finished it as the other three characters on the original 360 version. It's going better than the first time I played, but I didn't have as much knowledge of the game back then as I do now, which is still only superficial knowledge, but enough to have a much easier time.
  17. Just finished Street Fighter and it was so much better than I expected or it had any right to be. The soundtrack was a bit all over the place in terms of the time the movie is set, but enjoyable, and the score was great. I can't believe they're setting up a sequel, but at the absolute worst they can stick it out on Paramount Plus. You could tell they had a lot of respect for Street Fighter. There are loads of lovely little easter eggs and nods. Well worth a watch. I'm so glad I decided to come and see it. I thought it was going to enjoy how bad it was, but I legit enjoyed it.
  18. I have a feeling Maya and Kenny will turn on James Acaster now. I would have waited a couple of nights before recruiting and gotten some murdering done. By getting rid of Michael Sheen you'd have been able to remove Joe Lycett. There's no need for a third right now, just get rid of the ones people suspect are traitors by murdering removing the ones who are suspecting them. There's no heat on Maya and James at all.
  19. They were really nice yoghurts as well. I don't like how they package mince now in supermarkets, particularly the more budget friendly stuff. I get that it's cheaper, but it's just a slab of mush and it's such a ballache to try and separate it out when I'm trying to do a chilli or bolognaise etc.

    GTA6

Justice have been announced as having done the score for the game. First track from it released on YouTube, and the album is due to release sometime as well.
  21. Whenever I was out with my mum before she got her blue badge I would always joke that we should park in the parent and child bay, even more so if we were out with my gran.
  22. Then you go to Liverpool or Salford and you can hire them to whizz about the city centre. They're prohibitively expensive, presumably to avoid them disappearing after some Boris/Burnham bikes ended up getting taken to the South of France on jollies in a single day, or just having the trackers removed and abandoned. They need to pick a lane.
  23. They're only supposed to be sold in the two weeks leading to bonfire night, but there are obviously places that don't do that, or a lot of stock piling going on. I totally agree with you. When I bought my ticket to see Street Fighter this coming Saturday morning the cinema's website (Reel) did have a little end time listed as well, which was nice.
  24. When I first moved to Manchester we kept really weird hours and would often head across to the big Sport City Asda to get the shopping done at 2am. The times they do their Autism/sensory friendly quieter music, dimmer lights thing are nonsense as well. Why can't they have one that isn't 9am on a Monday? A running order to show roughly how long the adverts/trailers are as well? Not necessarily to avoid the trailers but to better organise when you can meet people afterwards.
