I like both of these! Some streaming platforms have a counter telling you how long the ads are - if we have to suffer ads then at least you know whether you have time to get a drink or not. Having this in the cinema would be great. Pop your head in - still 18 minutes to go, fine I'll get a coffee. It perversely might make more money in concessions. When people ask that "what would you do if you win the lottery?" I always answer "I'd open a small cinema" and I would definitely implement this scheme.

If it's an option for you I recommend only shopping after 7pm. It can feel like the shop has been opened just for you.

Off topic but as an avid e-bike user I'd really like the language cleared up on these things. The difference between "I get a bit of help when I pedal up to 15 mph" is different from "I turn the throttle and just go".

Martin Lewis winds me up irrationally, but his Small Ideas initiative is really good. Send them something small and annoying that is feasible to fix and they'll campaign to get it done. In their words "Small, do-able, non-political - the stuff that'd actually make life better." eg. consistent council forms, standardised allergy labels on menus, fairer car parking charges. What Small Idea™️ would you like fixed? (I'm aware this sounds like astroturfing, I just thought it would make a good idea for a thread. I'm sure it will involve toilets before long).

He's been squeezing the market that way for a couple of years. I give it five years before he successfully offloads the unprofitable USO clause and ordinary letters will be an 'only best efforts' basis ie they won't happen.

My journey back from Bath was so involved I'm surprised I didn't toss a ring into a volcano at the end. Hence late replying. And what a lot to reply to! It was £14. It was in a very touristy area and it was near where I shackled my bike which was the main criterion. I thought it was a decent portion. I didn't eat again until 7pm. Maybe I took the photo from very far away. And the 'cauliflower'? It was described as a potato cake, but was quite loose like a hash brown, topped with a fine breadcrumb. A new one on me.

It was the end of service so I think he threw a day's worth of herbs on it. Luckily I was think chives on scrambled eggs are the best.

Some bloke (are you here?) has essentially taken a couple of bits from this thread and made a YouTube video about it I kinda wished he'd asked for more detail because there's more could be fleshed out with regards to artwork, exclusives, Mega Mail, the EU magazine discs, input into the schedule etc. Then he could've got over the 8 minute mark and earned proper money from it. Oh well.
