What happens if Boris resigns/is pushed ?

    Who takes over ?

I would imagine that as Deputy PM, Dominic Raab would take over in the interim until the Tories elect a new leader and there would be a snap General Election shortly afterwards

  2. All that I took from Trent’s return was that the right side of his hairline is receding quicker than the left.

Oh, and the so called Superkliq got sent packing by Trent Barretta. Trent fucking Baretta. Jesus Christ

Other than it was a fairly decent show apart from Punk flogging that dead horse of an Islanders joke

On my TV. Showed the same on the laptop too.

Hmm, peculiar. Just had a skim through the All4 app and there are episodes later on that are missing:
    S5E6, S6E16, S9E10, S10E6 and S11E6. S8 is missing the most though, that’s missing 5 episodes.

I’m assuming those episodes contain some sort of “questionable content” that Channel4 have just decided to omit them rather than deal with any complaints.

Definitely invest in the box set though, only ÂŁ32 on Amazon at the moment

Unfortunately it's missing a massive amount of episodes (Series 2 has about 6 episodes)

How/where are you watching it? Just had a look at the All4 app and it’s showing all 24 episodes for S2.

We rewatched the whole thing in Lockdown 1 as the wife had never watched it properly. We’re planning to rewatch again next year and rate each episode, but I’m beginning to wonder if that’s a worthwhile exercise as it’s so consistently great. Even the few episodes that could be considered “filler” are at worst a 7 out of 10.

Totally agree about Peri Gilpin though, major crush on her at the time.

  5. I took a look at the card and decided to only watch the last two matches as there wasn’t anything else I was interested in.

I gave up watching weekly pretty soon after the reboot, but I’ve always been slightly intrigued by what they’ve been doing with Joe Gacy’s character. Not in a “great! They’re doing a character whose all about inclusivity, acceptance...” sort of way, more in that I’m intrigued in what old man Michaels and old man Vince think that kind of person is (although I’m not sure entirely how involved Vince is with the actual writing)

I lost interest in the men’s War Games Match after they did the whole “two teams stand off from one another then charge” routine, it’s just the same fucking thing every fucking year. Kendo Sticks, Rubbish Bins and over the last couple years chains. Same old shit every time.
I did catch Grayson Waller’s massive elbow drop to LA Knight through the table towards the end though, that was really good.
Bronn getting the pin sets up the title match between he and Ciampa at New Years Evil, where I reckon they’ll put the belt on him.

If this was Gargano’s last match in NXT then I hope to god he doesn’t go to AEW. While the likelihood of him going to there is admittedly pretty high, it’s not a given and I hope I never see him again

I'll preface this by saying I'm never ever listened to a Volbeat song before but I just listened to that song and quite liked it.

Hey man if you like it that’s cool, far be it from me to tell what to like, but I hope I never hear it again in my life

  7. I found out yesterday that you can hide songs on Spotify, essentially deleting them the album, which has improved the new Volbeat album immensely now that I don’t have to listen to ‘Wait A Minute My Girl’ ever again. I honestly can’t put into words how bad that song is.

Exodus are a band that I’ve tried to get into before (my mate absolutely loves them), but they just don’t do anything for me. Part of that is Steve Souza’s vocals, he just sounds awful. But that’s just my opinion

Also did WWE pump anything out on HD DVD or was it dead before they moved from DVD?

I believe that Wrestlemania 24 was the first thing released on BluRay (someone please correct me if I’m wrong) so that would’ve been mid 2008 when that was released. HD DVD looks to have been disconnected around March of that year, BluRay having already won the war and were simulcasting on HD DVD players

  9. It’s the show and my mate put on whenever we need a good laugh.

The fact that they had to put on The Hardys v MNM in a 20minute opener and the show still went under 2hrs shows just how much of a catastrophic failure WWECW was from the get go.

Tommy Dreamer taking a ridiculous flat back bump on the metal entrance way from Khali’s  chokeslam and then acting as if he’s paralysed. His match wasn’t advertised in advance, literally no-one tuned in to watch him, so who gave a shit.

Kevin Thorn and Ariel (and her huge comedy tits) v Mike Knox and Kelly Kelly - even just typing that just made me want to tap out, a horrendous match on every conceivable level.

Only one ECW original in the main event because “fuck you! You don’t like what you like!”  after the homicidal, suicidal, genocidal death defying Sabu was, yep, beaten up beforehand. He can wrap his arm up with sellotape in a barbed wire match and continue, but a sneak attack (which happened off screen too) puts him down
Of course fan/smark favourite CM Punk is out of the Chamber Match first because “fuck you! You don’t like what you like!”.
A final three of Test, his heart ready to burst at any moment due to being gassed to the gills, Big Show who’d given up caring about his physique long before that night and a still green as grass Bobby Lashley, I’m amazed the fans didn’t torch the building

  10. There was a phase where they were putting out a load of great DVD sets and I did pick up a lot of them.

There did come a point though where they had exhausted the library of what would sell to the general/causal fan and were left with having to sell more niche stuff to hardcore collectors. Things like Legends of Mid-South Wrestling or The Best of WCW Monday Nitro Vol.3 were only ever going to appeal collectors, whereas that years Wrestlemania would usually be one of the years top sellers.

The times they are a-changin’ though, and since the launch of the network, where they’ve got virtually every iconic moment or major wrestling event thats ever occurred in North America just a few clicks away, the release of those sets did decline both in quality & quantity, and the ones there were releasing were getting things with a lot of repeats from previous sets

I think the only one I buy each year now is the Wrestlemania BluRay

  11. Take out ‘Wait A Minute My Girl’ from the new Volbeat album and you’ve got a really decent new album from them.

Probably their heaviest material for the better part of a decade, but the whole thing just feels a lot more focused than the last two albums. ‘Wait A Minute My Girl’ is fucking awful, but thankfully is the only song that leans heavily into that rock n roll style that the band has become known for. There is a cover of Roy Orbison’s ‘Domino’ on there too but I think that’s only on the deluxe version

  12. The opening post pretty summed him up entirely.

As a wrestler, perfectly serviceable and capable of putting on a decent match, sometimes even a great match when paired with the right person. But fuck me does he think he’s a much bigger star than he actually is. He has the biggest entrance out of anyone on the show where he even has his own special area to come out of

I spoke at the time about him shifting the focus of the Ladder match at Revolution, where of course he was the sole babyface in the match, and that’s something that has bled into other matches. Even before that match, when he dropped the TNT Title to Darby Allen for example, the story wasn’t that Darby had won, it was that Cody had lost and what was next for him.

They might be the nicest people in the world offscreen, but he & Brandi are a right pair insufferable cunts onscreen. As others have mentioned, good on them for starting a family. But that announcement video, especially in how they did it immediately after Moxley had mentioned his and Renee’s own pregnancy in a pretty low-key fashion. Obviously that was partly a matter of timing & coincidence and I hope they didn’t intend to, but it did come as across if they needed to one up Moxley & Renee.
That gender reveal with the Wrestlemania pyro too - fuck right off.

He’s often the worst thing about anything that he’s involved in. He’s basically the Jared Leto of AEW, maybe even wrestling entirely

Tokyo Godfathers has arrived on Netflix today. Absolutely lovely stuff.

Saw that had been added earlier. Never got round to it before but definitely going to soon
