Zo, the Oz short film featuring Beecher & O’Reily post-Oz and which was only previously available as part of the ATX TV Festival back in the pandemic, is coming to YouTube on May 1st

As some of you know I do the Inside Oz Podcast (S4BE15 - Even The Score will be available tomorrow), so I’m super stoked that I finally get to see this as it means the pod can have its rightful conclusion. I had previously been in touch with Tom Fontana about acquiring a copy, but it was during the writer’s strike so he wasn’t talking to anybody and there was already some “legal issues” preventing a release 

I know I’ll be in the minority on this, but I can’t believe they’ve gone straight to Danielson/Osprey for this rather than holding off for it and running it at Wembley.

I know the match is going to be everything that fans today want it to be (some will have given it the 6 star treatment in their heads already), but you’ve got two guys both claiming to be the best in the world, one of whom has said he’s going to be wrapping his career up by the end of the year, and you’ve got an upcoming show with thousands of tickets that still need shifting. Youre not going to get many chances to run this match with Danielson retiring, so why would you not have on your biggest show? Would this match shift all of those remaining Wembley tickets? Not likely, but it would certainly shift a good chunk. This isn’t one of those “where the story!?” posts, there doesn’t need to be one, the whole thing of “I’m the best”, “no you’re not bruv! I am bruv!” writes itself, and that is the biggest match they could have for Wembley.
The only match that could come close to it is Osprey v a returning Omega, but I’ve no idea how far off Kenny is from returning to action, or you have Osprey go after the World title. Now, an Osprey v Samoa Joe match could be quite fun, but I’m pretty certain they’re putting the belt on Swerve here, which frankly doesn’t do anything for me. Again, I know I’m probably in the minority with that

Im not against injury angles per se, if it’s done well it can really add to a match and if the crowd buy it then it achieved its goal. However, doing it 3 days after NXT had to stop a match due to a legitimate injury (to Joe Gacy who smacked the back of his head on the mat and knocked himself out, although he was cleared soon afterwards ) is probably more of an issue, which could either be looked as just being poor timing or somebody just didn’t think of how it could look. 
The other thing is withit being a perceived neck injury. I don’t mean to sound like one of WWE’s ‘Don’t Try This At Home’ ads, but wrestlers run that sort of risk of injury every time they get in the ring, and one wrong move could be the end of your career, or worse in the case of a neck injury. I got a stinger when I played Sunday Rugby League and couldn’t feel my hands for 45 minutes. It was legitimately the most scared I’ve ever felt in my life, and pretending to have a neck injury just doesn’t sit right, at least it doesn’t with me

i don’t know, maybe I’m reading too much into it. 

Seen a lot of backlash from them doing a fake injury angle in the Billie Starks/Queen Animata match.

I don’t know if people are annoyed that they did it in the first place or just that they bought it.

Random bump of this as today, as despite never being really into vinyl and only having a small handful of records by certain artists, I’ve decided I’d quite like a player and build a small collection.

The main issue is that I’ve got no idea where to even start with what I’m looking for, what sort of budget to set myself or anything. I’m fairly sure I want to stay away from one of those £50 players that have the speakers build in as I imagine they sound like shite, but if I can get something that sounds decent for OK money I’ll be happy.

Any help is greatly appreciated

They're more than a regular ticket, but cheaper than going to the theatre itself. £15-£20 seems to be the going rate for those kind of screenings

If this show has a good 5 year plus run then you will get a new Phil and Eunice. Contenders who are so good they can consistently make the Gladiators look stupid and make a name for themselves. Especially if we start having Series Champion all star specials or International shows again.

Let’s not get all Netflixy and see if the momentum continues into Series 2 before we go commissioning spin-offs and shit

Yeah, confirmed a few days ago and they released some other figures too. Averaged 8.3 million on the whole for the series apparently, which in this day and age is fantastic

Pierre Marceau according to the video description. Probably best known for being in NXT as Marcus Louis as part of the the tag team The Legionaires and then losing his hair and eyebrows after his partner legging it after losing a Hair vs Hair match to Enzo Amore.

To your other point about McAfee, if you like it that’s fine but I can’t stand the fucker. If there was a away to watch the show without the commentary (like how Amazon do/did with the Football) I’d enjoy it a lot more

Having wussed out of the actual Gladiators bit of Gladiators and tried to rely on the fact that he's effectively a professional assault course completer. 

(The fact who wins Gladiators comes down to an assault course that doesn't even involve any Gladiators has annoyed me since I was a kid). 

Agreed. If the Eliminator has to be an assault course though, I wish they’d modify it in some way in each round rather than being exactly the same throughout the series. If you know you can ace the Eliminator, you just have to keep the score close through the games rather than going all out

I was pleasantly surprised that my Nick Cave ticket for November was only £70 for Standing. I say only because obviously that’s still a fair chunk of change, but I was expecting it to be much more with how things have been going post-Pandemic.

Was at the Conan/Wallowing show in Sheffield on Friday night. Great showing from all 3 acts (Gozer opened the night) but being shoved upstairs at Corporation because the main room was being occupied by a Mötley Crüe tribute act was a disgrace. @cobra_gordo I’d already bought the tickets before I was aware you were on the Nottingham date, otherwise I’d have come down for that one.

Just booked two gigs which are probably as far apart as could possibly be. 
Suffocation w/ Distant (who I’ve seen before and fucking suck), Sworn Amongst (who were in the year below me at college) and Cavekiller at The Hairy Dog in Derby in June, then I’m off to Madness at Kirkstall Abby (which definitely sounds like it should be a Hammer Horror film) at the end of July

Now that’s how you get me to re-sub to AEW+ (for a month at least). Even I’m happy to sod off logical reasons for it happening
