More of a random thought than anything but I'm starting to realise that Dehumaizer is my favourite Black Sabbath album. As much as I love the early stuff there's so many gems on it, Dio's vocals are amazing and Iommi's riffs are as good as anything he'd done previously but for some reason it either gets shat on for no reason or just ignored.

The answer to both of those are “Because it isn’t Ozzy-era”.

I’ve always preferred Dio-era Black Sabbath. Don’t get me wrong, those early albums laid a foundation for a lot of bands and Ozzy’s solo stuff can be very good, but Dio was by far and away the better performer

I'm all in for Beymax and Zootopia series. They really need to make a sequel to the best modern Disney film (Tangled) at some point as well.

Tangled is too far gone for a sequel film now, it got totally usurped by the popularity of Frozen which is a shame as it’s a much better film.

The wife & I are debating whether or not to watch Home Sweet Home Alone to see if it’s as bad as the trailer made it look

  3. Yeah, them going to close to 4hrs for PPV is pretty standard. Other than Cody, its the only real drawback I have with AEW. That’s not to say that it can’t work depending on the booking and the general flow/running order of the show, but on occasion there has been a dip midway through the show because they’ve normalised going that long. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should, but again, it’s all dependant on the story/stories being told on the night.

Thats probably just me becoming a fan in the era when 3hr PPVs were the norm, with Wrestlemania occasionally going a bit longer. The last few years of 5hr+ Wrestlemanias nearly made me stop watching.

Looking forward to the show though and glad it’s back on a Saturday, even if it is just for this one

It was based on a 2011 pilot for a series that was never commissioned, which stared most of the film cast. It feels very much like a passion project which is why it was so disapointing it turned out so dull and boring. Everyone involved clearly wanted it to work, it just didn't.

Was that anything to do with the short which had a load of World of Sport era wrestlers getting the bus? (I want to say that Mackenzie Crook and Matt Berry were involved in that, but not WLAP)

  5. Had to take a look and see whether or not Bryan and Miro have faced off before.

They’ve only ever had 1 one-on-one match, a Money In The Bank Qualifier in May 2018.

They were involved in a Gauntlet Match on Smackdown in June 2018, although I don’t know if they didn’t crossed paths

Everything else has been on opposing sides of 3 Tags Matches on House Shows or Royal Rumble Matches

I’ll give that a go, thanks for the recommendation. I thought “Silenced” was the name of some comedian or others new special about how you can’t joke about things anymore. But then they’d have been on every tv show promoting it.

I don’t think that John Cleese doc has been on yet, so you’ve got that to look forward to.

It’s directed by The Squid Game director, they added a few of his movies last week.

I watched it a few years back and it really is a heartbreaking 2 hours.

I didn’t realise it was the same director, figured it was more of a “Korean stuff is the in thing, here’s a load more”.

Still though, a very good film but as you said, heartbreaking. I’d recommend putting on Paddington afterwards to bring yourself back up, which probably makes for the most bizarre Double Feature possible

The Answer! Haven't heard of them for years. Were always good fun though, what are they up to now?

Up until 2016 they were putting out an album every other year but haven’t released anything since then. Pretty sure they’ve still been touring in that time though

    Yep. Robson style.

It wouldn’t be a shock if Vince died after being talked into trying autoerotic asphyxiation, mysteriously leaving the entire company to Humberto Carillo. Its the most Vince McMahon way he could go

  10. Silenced has just been added to Netflix.

“Based on real events, this film depicts the story of a school for the hearing-impaired where young deaf students were sexually assaulted by the faculty members over a long period of time.“

I watched it last year and despite its horrendously grim subject matter it’s a very good film. There are a couple of scenes that are incredibly uncomfortable viewing, I’m genuinely surprised that it’s actually made it’s way to a mainstream streaming service

Card has shapen up into an absolute cracker. Really hoping they don't add a ninth match as nine matches is too many, though they probably will (Cody/Pac vs Andrade/Black is likely). What's the difference between a Falls Count Anywhere and a Street Fight though? Every match has a very different vibe and style to it though so should be a brilliant show.

Street Fight is No DQ but the decision has to occur in the ring.

There are probably examples were that doesn’t apply, but if it’s on the same card as a Falls Count Anywhere match, that’s usually the explanation

  12. Black Spiders have just reformed after a few years off, first saw them supporting Volbeat a decade ago which makes me feel really old all of a sudden. They’re certainly a no thrills type of band but they’re a decent undercard act for pretty much anything

I guess all that anger and emotion we've been seeing out of him recently wasn't acting.  When he kicked that railing into the fan... twice on tv last week, I did think "that's taking the heel turn a bit too far!"

It does make me wonder exactly what backstage AEW is like.  WWE nowadays has all sorts of drug tests, doctors, systems in place to look after its talent and by all accounts is a very sober place compared with yesteryear.  I wouldn't be surprised if AEW is more like the Wild West.  It's great that he's decided to go to rehab, but perhaps they should knock the jokey references to Page's drink problem for a bit, if they haven't done already.

I doubt that the AEW locker-room is much different from the WWE one. GCW on the other hand, where Mox is the current Champion, I imagine is a wretched hive of scum & villainy
