This could just as easily go in the TIL thread, but apparently Nadhim Zahawi used to work for WWE.

EDIT: Although, having a look I can't find a source other than this article that actually verifies this as true, so maybe it's bollocks anyway.

It’s not referring to Zahawi. Michelle Donelan, who has replaced Zahawi as Education Secretary, used to work in WWE’s Marketing Department

Fantastic day of political implosion yesterday.  The only real winner is Zahawi, who gets to hold the top Ministerial job if only for a week.  Rather him than Truss.

The elections to the 1922 Committee are tomorrow, if there are no more cabinet resignations by then I expect to see a new committee immediately vote on binning the 12-month rule on VONC, and schedule another vote for next week - which this time Johnson will lose.

My reading of what happened yesterday was that Sunak and Javid went to Johnson and demanded his resignation; he refused and so they resigned.  It's just a matter of time now but, yeah, he's not EVER going to resign so 1922 it is at this stage.

Agree completely. He’ll be dragged out kicking & screaming before he ever even considers resigning.

But, like with everything else and unless one of the big names tenders their resignation next, I fully expect him to come through the other side. Junior Ministers that people have hardly heard of are one thing, but unless Patel, JRM or another of those goes, I fully expect to get away with it like he always does.

Dorries makes Truss look like a political force de majeure. Even by Tory standards, I cannot fathom how she is where she is today. Thick as mince.

Definitely nothing to do with making Doe Eyes towards the PM, who seemingly can’t function at the sight of a woman doing anything

She's been held down by the machine!

EDIT: Seen a few clips from the women's ladder match and Shotzi should be nowhere near a wrestling ring and she's another one that's supposedly been held back and deserves more.

Liv seems to have inherited the weirdos that followed Alexa Bliss the last few years. Once Bliss got engaged (I think she might be married now) they turned their attention to Liv, and practically every post she makes is full of creeps

You got to remember as well that everyone “deserves better”. I’m not going looking for the tweet as it’s over 3 years old, but the Womens Battle Royale from WM35 had 17 women in it, all of whom “deserved better”.

  5. Finally got round to watching this last night.

I didn’t mind the Blood & Guts Match itself, although it definitely didn’t need to go 46 minutes. It was certainly better than New NXT vs Old NXT from the end of last year though, and judging by the ratings the match certainly seems to be a draw.

JR- “I don’t know much this thing weighs but it must be well north of a tonne”
Taz - “yeah, like I was saying, its over 15,000lbs, that’s insane”

Yes it is Taz, because that would be close to 7 tonnes.

  6. “But it did not trip the wire of severity  to warrant a formal disciplinary process”

So you’re allowed to do a little bit of abuse so long as you don’t trip the wire, got it.

He seems to suffer from a case of the “er, er, er…” part way through like Robocop remembering a trauma

I don't think the red flag impacted their choice.  The red flag due to the crash actually dented their protest as they then weren't shown as the race was stopped regardless.

We were a few feet away from where they got onto the track. They waited until the majority had went by them (the red flag had already been called) before coming onto the track and sat down covering about half of the tarmac.

Even without the incident at the start, a red flag would’ve been called and word would’ve gotten to the drivers to slow down and keep to the right of the track. Took over 15minutes once the police arrived to take them away, and there was another incident off the track that took a long time to clear too.

Still haven’t got a clue how they actually got onto the track though. They didn’t seem scale the fence, the drop from the bridge would’ve been too much of a drop, they just seemed to appear from nowhere. Saying that, three stewards covering such a large area provides ample opportunity. One of them was the guy who tied himself to the goalpost at Everton the other week

Is he not automatically a baby face now as Miz turned on him?

They explained that on RAW this week as Miz giving him a “learning experience”. They’re supposedly set to tag together again at Summerslam, unless they change course and go with a Miz v Paul singles match instead

I haven't seen him wrestle but is he actually 'talented in the ring' in a 'can work a match on the road that is mostly called at the time' or is he 'coordinated and not horrible and can meet timings and base a bit and do some smoke and mirrors spot work'? Legit question, doesn't matter to me either way.

He’s not going to be working house shows so I wouldn’t worry about that.

Going off of what I remember of his match at Wrestlemania he seems perfectly capable of being given a sequence and executing it well. How he copes should said sequence go wrong and how he deals with that remains to be seen, and will also depend on who he’s in the ring with and their own ability to improvise should they need to

Why would he need to lie.

    Joseph Meehan

He's had a work history outside of the wrestling industry.

    Doesn't have any convictions.

There’s two ways this could’ve gone-

Either he’s only told them about his “work history outside of wrestling” (which I admittedly am not privy to), meaning that he’s lied about making an income from wrestling nearly 20 years

    or

He’s told them about the wrestling, fully aware that these previous allegations will likely become known about at some point.

I am only speculating, but my money is on the former. He’s either a liar or he’s an arrogant cunt with no remorse

I doubt he lied about anything.

The fault will lie with Disney's HR who didn't do much in the way of due diligence. It's LA there will be plenty of wannabe actors/entertainment industry types with spotty resumes and stage names.

If he’s put on his application that he was a wrestler named Joey Ryan then he’s a thick cunt as well.

Someone will have googled that and the first thing that would’ve come up (before today probably) will have been several thousand results of “Wrestler Joey Ryan accused of sexual misconduct”

Ditto. Granted, I’m not intimately familiar with his particular scandal but something doesn’t feel good about this one.

I’m glad he’s not wrestling anymore but I don’t think the mob should get to decide which day jobs he should and shouldn’t be allowed to work.

Again, If I’m missing something then please elucidate.

I would imagine Sexual Assault allegations would blackball you from pretty any job run by anyone in anyway morally decent (of which Disneyland being one of those it’s a conversation in & off itself). If anything it shows that Disneyland’s background checks are a bit lax.

Of course he could’ve lied on his application to cover that he’s been a wrestler for close to 20 years, but surely he would’ve had to have provided sort of personal info for admin reason and all that stuff, which should’ve raised something but apparently didn’t
