Suppose it belongs here since he is/was in the main event on Wednesday, but to the surprise of no one, Jeff hardy is a fucking  idiot.

He’s clearly got deep rooted addiction problems that need addressing with qualified professionals, so tarnishing him simply as a “fucking idiot” is a tad unfair.

For all their many faults, one thing that WWE often get right is their rehab policy for any previous employee

What's worse than Britpop? British nu metal.

Oh Christ, I remember hearing that at the time. There wasn’t much that didn’t blow my 16 year old mind at that time, but I remember even at that time thinking that that was utter dogshit.

I recall hearing that they were booked on Megadeth’s UK tour and just got absolutely annihilated by the crowd, to the point that Dave Mustaine issued an apology/burial on the band’s website basically saying that they had no hand in who got booked on the tour

The weird thing with Paige is that there’s plenty of people who insist that in the ring she was shit. But she had plenty of good matches including one with Natalya, who’s actually rubbish, so I’m not sure how it works. It’s the same as what I mentioned recently in the SmackDown thread with Sasha, people seem to enjoy saying she’s shit. She also had a very good match with Paige, despite them BOTH apparently being shit.

I don’t recall ever thinking that she was shit, but at the same time I didn’t think she was as good as a lot of people made her out to be.
Coming in after years of the likes of Aksana and Maxine and all the others that were used for pillow fights and all that sort of stuff, it wasn’t hard to be considered better.

She was still way better than AJ Lee though, who had the double whammy of not being as good as people made her out to or as good as she thought she was (see also: Natalya, as you mentioned)

Highly recommended checking it out if any of the above interests you. I've only come across 1 thing so far that you have to subscribe to access and that was a SWS supershow headlined by Hogan and Tenyru v RoadWarriors

OSW Review did a watch along of that show that’s freely available on YouTube. You get a quick rundown of how SWS came about before the PPV starts around the 10:00 mark (full vid is just under 3hrs).
Obviously if you don’t want to hear talking throughout the whole thing just turn the volume down

Isn't there just one NJPW guy in the tournament brackets? I think they were not named yet.

The bracket suggests there are two in the tournament, but to the best of my knowledge they still have haven’t been named

Is it really spoilers when the matches mentioned are the two that impact Forbidden Door, the thread topic?

I don't watch NJPW, but if I did, I wouldn't enter this thread until I'd seen the show if I didn't want spoilers.

It’s a thread for a different show to the one that results are being posted about, one that finished within the last few minutes. It doesn’t get much spoiler than that

  7. Jurassic World: Dominion

Had elements of Indiana Jones in the first act, which makes you wish you were watching Indiana Jones instead.

Laura Dern and Sam Neill have a Scooby Doo adventure in the middle, then Chris Pratt and his gang get to a jungle where it goes a bit Predator shortly afterwards, which makes you wish you were watching Predator instead.

Theres a part in the final act where I was convinced that Real American was going to kick in, and as they’d ripped off Predator earlier on, the fact that no-one shouted “get to the chopper” in the final showdown was very disappointing.

If you’ve got kids they’ll probably enjoy it, if not save your money and wait in till it’s on ITV2 next year.

  8. I don’t think they’ll have a Triple Threat for the IWGP Title either. But, having said that, where will Cole fit in? You know he’s going to be doing something because Khan isn’t going to dare to leave off the PPV. Have him dicking about with Toru Yano for all I care.

Its amazing how quickly Forbidden Door went from being a Dream Match Megacard when it was first announced to now being something that’s just in the way of the regular show

Would it kill them to had a 30 second - 1 minute highlight reel of the big New Japan guys on each show? It wouldn't be difficult to find a few clips of Tanahashi looking good to wet people's appetite.

As he’s in the country (presumably for some NJ Strong tapings), couldn’t he work a short match to show off his moves. He doesn’t even have to face a top guy, just someone solid. As Yuta’s back from Best of the Super Juniors, stick him in there with him and then Tanahashi has beaten Moxley’s stablemate en route to FD.

Fest was great until some fucking scumbag shithead nicked my phone during Dropkick Murphys. Took it right from my front jeans pockets in the middle of their set, and they got several others too as the floor was littered with empty phone cases (including mine). Same thing happened to me at Slam Dunk Leeds in 2015, so the organisers clearly do not give a fuck about attacking this issue.

It put me in a right bad mood and I headed back to the hotel without seeing Sum 41 because I didn't want to bring my mates down to my level. Ruined what was, up until that point, a great day; beer was flowing, sun was shining, the bands sounded good. That's it for me and Slam Dunk now though. They could announce a line-up on par with Riot Fest and I still wouldn't give them the money.

    Fuck Leeds, too. Thieving bastards.

Sorry to hear about your phone getting nicked.

You say that it happened before (again, sorry to hear about that) and that the organisers don’t care, but what do you think they should do to combat it? Outside of having plain clothed security/police in the crowd itself, what can they realistically do? I don’t mean any disrespect by that and as I say I’m sorry to hear that it happened to you (and seemingly a number of other people), I’m just interested to hear what you might consider a solution

Download Festival on Thursday for me.

Really need to look at some Clashfinders for who's actually on the bill as we did it as very spur of the moment, let's get back to a festival and away for a weekend vibe.

This is the one that’s been doing the rounds - https://clashfinder.com/m/download2020/?user=0w5qa5.cn . It’s based on previous years as Download haven’t released the official times yet (should do over the next couple of days), but it’s usually pretty accurate.

I'm there on my lonesome, first time I'm camping at a bigger festival. What's the jig on Wednesday & Thursday, the site mentions some stand up and what sounds like they put the radio on.

Yeah, ropey stand-ups and DJs playing the same songs you’ve heard a billion times. Unless you’re one of those people who like to be pretend that Download is “home” or has to be there first, there’s no reason to be there on the Wednesday. I understand why they open it up then, but there’s not enough there to warrant being there an extra day
