  1. As should be the case with any annoying little bastard heel. If you're a little guy and you're a heel no one should believe you are genuinely tough, it's all about them being sneaky, cheating, being cowardly, hiding behind bigger mates and using every corner cutting dastardly trick in the book to get the advantage on their opponents.
  2. No way, I love reading your show reviews!
  3. Thinking about that class Casino Gauntlet match still, with some tweaks, new name and more hoopla around it it could really be there Royal Rumble equivalent if they wanted. Do it annually. Bonkers and mad fun.
  4. The handling of Swerve on this show was pretty fucking disgraceful. A 3 minute promo would have been better than an ice cold pointless 15 minute match. I'm fine with the Tony Khan stuff as I'm fairly certain he's not going to be a regular character. Gauntlet match was absolutely loads of fun, highlighting how exciting, great and deep this roster is. Ospreay as International Champion works for me. It's too soon for him to go straight to the main event scene. The pacing of this show overall was really weird and made it hard to get into and a fair amount of it felt flat or weirdly booked.
  5. Not discounting or arguing your perfectly reasponable opinion but it's interesting how different people can view the same match. I absolutely loved this match, and my only criticism would be there wasn't enough Eddie Kingston. Though Mark Briscoe did an excellent job carrying the majority of the match - he's just so fucking great. What I really loved about this match is that the key part of the story they told was actually about holding back on the thing the fans wanted the most - Adam Copeland vs Malakai Black. They spent the whole match teasing it then backing away from it and withholding it from the audience then at the matches conclusion they finally face off Black immediately cheats to cut it short and get the victory. Proper good old school stuff. You put on an exciting match while simultaneously building up the next big match.
  6. Yeah I don't see how having one of the most entertaining, engaging and original characters on your show being the Champion can ever be a bad thing. There's a vast difference between a character being funny and a "comedy character". Toni is very funny but the difference is she's not actively trying to make the audience laugh. She plays it completely straight, which is what makes her funny and most importantly believable, and is still presented as a capable physical threat in the ring and that's what makes it work. She's quite often the best bit of any show she's on and the best acts should be in top positions with Championships. Simple as that.
  7. The main thing to me is I want to see an epic and classic Bryan Danielson singles match. Whether that's a rematch with Ospreay, Kenny Omega or a new match with Pac or Samoa Joe or Orange Cassidy or Darby Allin...to me that's the thing of most importance on this show.
  8. I think that in the history books probably the best thing AEW will be remembered for is that it's a place where top guys can finish off their careers with one last hurrah, showing total creative freedom and a wide range of opponents from all over the world. Sting, Danielson, Christian and now Copeland who seems to be on the cusp of putting out some really special stuff. I'd like this to be a usual thing, guys winding down their careers in the most fun way possible in AEW.
  9. Not sure what "seen my own arse" means but I'm totally fine with it though and was unaffected by your original post. I'd rather just keep to discussing Dynasty or AEW related things in here if that's ok?
  10. Nah, you're just taking things far too seriously. So did you actually watch Dynasty and have any thoughts on it you'd like to share and discuss or are you just here to have a moan? Anyway, I checked out Hook vs Jericho on the train this morning. It was a painful watch. Some of the work in it was pretty decent and Jericho was obviously working hard. He doesn't need to be taking mad bumps like Exploders off ring aprons through tables but obviously he wants to prove he belongs and prove is willing to bump big to get young talent over but it just isn't working. Hearing the crowd chant "Please retire"...there's not really any coming back from that in a match. Huge pop for Taz just getting out of his chair at the end, whatever else happens the roof is going to blow off the building when he (hopefully) chokes Jericho out.
  11. I don't think that's fair, she was doing excellent work at the time and the bloody nose just helped put her over the top. Becky's initial run as "the Man" briefly got me back into WWE in a big way. I had pretty much checked out by that point but she became must see TV. When they absolutely bottled it at Wrestlemania by putting on a 3 way and have her win by fluke pin instead of a clean win over Rousey I checked back out again and haven't really gone back properly since. I've no clue what her work is like these days but I don't think that's an accurate view of the original angle. You couldn't have just slotted anyone else there and had the same result.
  12. What did you think of Dynasty @Arch Stanton?
  13. I don't know who that is but he's wrong and can fuck off. As great as Ospreay/Danielson was I think it's actually Jack Perry's incredible shit-eating grin that's stayed with me the most. Think we might be on to something special here. A new Champion. The Elite firing on all cylinders. Willow on the rise. Ospreay. Hangman waiting in the aisles...things are looking very tasty at the moment, lads.
  14. What absolute joyless cunt doesn't enjoy Toni Storm? They need a shoe to the head. As for who beats her, well if Jaime Hayter is healthy anytime soon she might want revenge on the person who (storyline) injured her in the first place. Hayter vs Storm at Wembley is the dream. As for the show, I skipped Jericho/HOOK but everything else was pretty bloody perfect. Incredible show. My only complaint was them using the Dynamite set for the entrance. Breaks my heart when they do that. Just a little effort with something different for the big shows goes a long way for me.
