Its still one of the best tag matches I've ever seen. I watched it live and the near falls and the series of moves at the end came at you like machine gun. And they were near falls in the sense that people thought it was over until the kickout. Not near falls where you no its not going to end. Its telling that out of those four, Edge has a neck injury where he had to immediately retire otherwise he could have been paralyzed, Rey Mysterio's knees are a crippled mess and beyond help, Benoit's brain looked like mush, and he was in constant agony due to his neck and back injuries before he died, and Kurt Angle is a permanent state of pain. They all suffered for matches like that.

Have to say, nobody could kick out at 2-and-a-half like Angle could.

Also I remember reading that Edge has the flu pretty badly during this match. Not that you can tell or it matters as they had a brilliant match. Good PPV too was No Mercy 2002

It's mental to think of all the big time tag teams WWE had around that time, the Dudleys are the ones that appear to be in the best shape.

I think another interesting note with the Dudleyz is they were in the WWE for around 4 years but have been with TNA for 6 years now. It's come to the point now where I refer to them as Team 3D alot of the time. I know you can argue they were in ECW as the Dudleyz too before the WWE but its something I've got used to

Dudley Boyz were there 6 years. They turned up in mid-99 and stayed until mid-2005. They had a long run in the WWF. Mind you it is worth a thought that they are set to be in TNA longer than they were WWF or ECW.

Actually I totally forgot they were they were in 2005 with One Night Stand it just seemed that they did nothing in 2005 in the WWE apart from the ECW storyline.

this was awesome, i didnt really follow throughout this era, anyone recommend any other matches from the smackdown glory years?

Survivor Series 2002 - Jamie Noble Vs Billy Kidman

Survivor Series 2002 - Lesnar/Big Show

Survivor Series 2002 - Angle/Benoit Vs Los Guerreros Vs Edge/Mysterio

Royal Rumble 2003 - Benoit Vs Angle

Royal Rumble 2003 - The Match. Brilliantly done I thought.

Smackdown Jan - March 2003 - Any cruiserweight matches, featuring Noble, Mysterio, Kidman & Tajiri. Have a look at the Noble/Mysterio/Tajiri match on Smackdown for the #1 Contendership for the CW title for WM 19. Superub match.

Judgment Day 2003 - Ladder Match: Eddie/Tajiri Vs Hass/Benjamin

Smackdown May 2003 - Rhyno returning (his return was brilliant but they soon fucked it up)

Vengeance 2003 - APA Bar Room Brawl

Summerslam 2003 - Angle/Lesnar

Smackdown September 2003 - 60 Minute Iron Man Match: Angle/Lesnar

Just off the top of my head. But there was some quality stuff being put out during this time. I will have missed alot.
