bigjay
I'd read about this in Power Slam years and years ago when it first happened but never saw it. It's from ECW's Anarchy Rulz 2000 PPV. An angle is going on in the back and the producer accidently switches to the production truck. Paul Heyman (realising the camera is pointing at them) goes ballistic. Brilliant. It's at 2:25. http://www.youtube.com/user/MaffewJapanese...u/1/ZesTkcghTU8  HA! I saw that the other day and it killed me. Does anyone know who Joey Styles was fighting? At first I thought it was Paul but then obviously I saw Paul in the truck and go nuts.

Dangerously (formerly Sign Guy Dudley) who was going a Paul E. gimmick at the time.

Why would they have a camera filming them all in the production truck anyway? I dunno. Maybe the security camera in the truck was linked up to the rest of the camera. It was reported as a work at the time by everyone "in the know". The manner in which he went mental was pretty believable. And it's a bit out of the blue to suddenly show Heyman sitting in production throwing format sheets at the producer.

That PPV was one of the first ECW shows I bought on VHS, and I always thought it to be a "this is live, anything can happen, particularly in ECW" work. However, watching it now, it's just occured to me that it could be a work on a different level. IIRC, the Styles - Lou E. fight began because Lou E. attacked Joel Gertner, who was doing colour commentary. So, the producer of a live TV show has got one of his hosts knocked out, and the other one involved in a brawl. Why wouldn't he go nuts?

Paid Members garynysmon Posted August 2, 2010 Paid Members Share Posted August 2, 2010 Not sure where else to post this, but was Hercules being really unprofessional here? He took the Powerbomb badly, and then got up straight after the Pin. Scan forward to 6 minutes or so. Â
Smegma Cake
Mania 8 was Sids last match during that run, and either someone told anyone he's working for not to make him look good, or they did it off their own backs. With Sid and his contract disputes I can it being a bit of both.
