JFFC
I'm just sitting here shaking my head.... Betting is about quality not quantity. why not just focus on your top picks with a bigger stake? You seem to do well on them. At least it's got this thread going again now though.... For what it's worth I'm on this for tonight as an acca. Arizona to beat Atlanta Giants -3 to beat Jacksonville Bengals -4 to beat Tampa Panthers/Vikings over 42 Colts/Redskins over 50 Edited November 30, 2014 by JFFC
Stylin_and_Profilin
Agony and ecstasy over the past few weeks. Had Ian Poulter at 25/1 each way (which it thought was a gross over price) to win the Turkish Airlines open a fortnight ago. He was six shots clear after two rounds and absolutely tearing the course up then capitulated on the 3rd round and eventually finishing second which was a nice payout in itself but was looking at four-figure sum if he'd won......the final dagger in the heart was watching the highlights that night and just realising then that he missed a 5-footer on the 72nd and final hole for birdie which would have forced a play-off with the guy who won it. Couldn't pick my nose on the football coupons the last few weeks but managed to nick a wee four-fold yesterday with MK Dons, Swindon, Oldham and Preston for £120 and then put a cheeky tenner from that on at 9/1 for Fury to stop Chisora in rounds 10-12 which rounded off a decent day and always good nicking a win with Christmas presents and the like on the horizon. Ron&Hermione
That Aaron Rodgers is quite good at football, who knew? I ended up putting £50 on Miami -3 (10/11) and Denver money line (evens) just because I couldn't go without betting on Denver at that price. To return £190 If that wins (just waiting for Denver to hopefully hold on) then all in all this weekend I would have bet £320 and returns of £835.. If it doesn't, then take of £190 off that figure. Still, it's been one of those annoying nearly weekends, what with Chelsea not winning (£680 if won) & the Pats losing (£1,300). Pats had their chances, but just left points on the field, rather annoying really. However the stupid thing was I'm not a huge fan of the Patriots, so if I hadn't bet on them I would've wanted Green Bay to win anyway. Anyway, whilst I enjoy betting, maan its just pointless, I don't even do it for the money, I think it's just for the winning feeling.. It's just a shit vice to have, I definitely don't recommend it!.. At least I no longer play pit games and only stick to sports betting/poker... Speaking of which, does anyone follow Paul Newey on Twitter? He just posts pictures of high end slot wins, it's ridiculous. Had one for $1 million win. It's insane. But I guess that's what being worth £200 million allows you to do.

neil is brill
Wooly, there's a thing going around on Facebook that'll be right up your alley since you seemingly like throwing money away. Win approximately £20,000 from a £10 starting point in 20 bets, all singles at 1/2 odds. I'm no good at the bookies, I'm more of a roulette person, but someone who knows their stuff could make a few quid before Christmas. You'd need a hell of a string of luck though. Anyone else seen this, and are you giving it a try? Bet 1: £10 @ 1/2 win = £15Bet 2: £15 @ 1/2 win = £22.50 Bet 3: £22.50 @ 1/2 win = £33.75Bet 4: £33.75 @ 1/2 win = £50.63Bet 5: £50.63 @ 1/2 win = £75.95 Bet 6: £75.95 @ 1/2 win = £113.93 Bet 7: £113.93 @ 1/2 win = £170.90 Bet 8: £170.90 @ 1/2 win = £256.35Bet 9: £256.35 @ 1/2 win = £384.53Bet 10: £384.53 @ 1/2 win = £576.80 Bet 11: £576.80 @ 1/2 win = £865.20Bet 12: £865.20 @ 1/2 win = £1297.80Bet 13: £1297.80 @ 1/2 win = £1946.70Bet 14: £1946.70 @ 1/2 win = £2920.05Bet 15: £2920.05 @ 1/2 win = £4380.08Bet 16: £4380.08 @ 1/2 win = £6570.12Bet 17: £6570.12 @ 1/2 win = £9855.17Bet 18: £9855.17 @ 1/2 win = £14782.75Bet 19: £14782.75 @ 1/2 win = £22174.
Stylin_and_Profilin
Seen it done before but invariably it fails as, obviously, only need one result to torpedo it. We've been doing a betting syndicate at work recently that i've setup. Nothing outrageous; everyone pays in £5 per week and names were drawn out of a hat to draw up a list of who's turn it is each week. Currently nine people involved so every Friday someone gets £45 to do with as they please over the next week only stipulation being it has to be sports betting so no roulette machines, irish lottery, etc. We are currently in week 11 back to the start of the rota again with everyone already having had their turn and sitting at just over £875 in the pot so it's turned a nice little profit thus far and added bonus of it being good fun with the chat and banter each week as people upload their betting slips onto the WhatsApp group. neil is brill
Yeah, can see a lot of people thinking it's an easy 20 grand when really it isn't. I can barely string 3 consecutive wins together let alone 20. Plus if I'd got as far as the £500-odd bet I'd call it quits there, no way would I even consider risking thousands. Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted December 1, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted December 1, 2014 Statistically, the odds on winning that are crap- about 2200 to 1. You're effectively looking at a 19-fold acca and you would need to be pretty ballsy or pretty stupid to go beyond bet 10 with those stakes at 1/2. Ron&Hermione
I will do one as a throwaway bet this Saturday if I remember and post it, at least on a Saturday you have the ability to do them all at once. Plus college basketball means far more opportunity for those sort of lines. As it's not really a good bet on football at all because of the draw aspect. So 19 basketball games with a spread of about -4 gives you around 1.5 odds each. Does remind me of when I had 18p in my account once after withdrawing and decided to put It on 10 or so college football game spreads each at 1.9.. And it ended up winning! For like £112 or something. Bloody ridiculous. Anyway, tonight I have a little £50 on BTTS Sampdoria v Napoli (already won @1.72), Spurs - 11.5 (@1.90) & Miami -6.5 (@1.90) to come back for £330. neil is brill
This is why I stick to roulette, I have no idea what spread of -4 means or any of that gubbins. I can just about work out fractional odds in my head.

I can just about work out fractional odds in my head. Well that makes you far smarter than me, I have to use decimals or I'm completely lost. You would think betting a lot would help, but nope. And all it means is to make it even, so if one team is far superior to another they will give the other team essentially a 4 point lead. So they have to win by 5 or more. GIB
Put £40 on City on Sunday at 6/4 and won £100, put the winnings and remaining money in my account on this... £400 withdrew, leaving £100 in to do another double or treble I think.
