In the 1.45 at Newbury you put up four horses in a 7 runner race - three of them each way. This means that with bookies only paying 2 places for each way purposes, there would be a slim chance of you making money from this race using this method - especially with a short price favourite. Even if you tipped the winner and second, you would have two losers also, and using a level stakes method you would find it impossible to turn a profit - unless a horse won at odds greater than 8/1.
