Infinity Land Posted October 21 Posted October 21 In terms of departure it might spoil it as an example, Stu Grayson's return to AEW. Pops up again when they are in Canada if I remember right, gets the #AllElite graphic. Almost immediately dropped down to ROH for some shows where he turned on the Dark Order to join The Righteous. Then presumably sat out whatever was left on his contract. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted October 21 Paid Members Posted October 21 I'm confusing DJ Gabriel with Justin Gabriel. They should have given him an unnecessary name change like calling him Peregrine Albatross or Rupert or something. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted October 21 Paid Members Posted October 21 The mention of Chavo reminds me of Chavo Classic. Showed up for an angle, did better than people expected, got booked long-term, got the Cruiserweight belt, then completely flaked out. Quote

I told her that her former dance partner wrestled in the UK as "Steve Sonic", which she found very amusing. Should have paired him with Mickie Knuckles. Quote

He's the male Tamina Snuka. It's absolutely amazing that he's been with WWE for a decade. Presumably he's contributing something we're unaware of - producing matches in NXT or perhaps he's a stellar coach or something. Quote

Was only reminded quite recently that they actually appeared in the Battle Royal on Heat before WrestleMania XV. Was that before or after they got a kicking off the APA? A video of this popped up on my socials today. The match was 7th March '99 and the commentary mentions it's 2 weeks to Mania. I'd always assumed they were binned straight after the infamous Heat match. I just watched another video on the incident and JBL mentioned they were building to the first ever WWF table match at "the PPV". Surely bullshit? Has that ever been mentioned elsewhere that there was a plan for Public Enemy vs APA in a table match at Mania 15? Quote
Chico Torres Posted October 23 Posted October 23 A slightly different one. The obese tag team Double Trouble in the WWF had multiple very short runs between 1991 and 1994, however none of their matches made tv. The reason being that their team name in some indie promotions in the late 80s was The Undertakers, when the WWF debuted the slightly more famous Undertaker they managed to get a settlement which guaranteed them WWF matches but they likely had a crap lawyer. So to adhere to the settlement terms the WWF would give them matches on house shows or dark matches at tapings every now and then. One of them ended up going to ECW as Big Val Puccio after their WWF “run” ended. Quote

Chico Torres Posted October 24 Posted October 24 This guy may be an ultimate short lived “my guest at this time” podium interviewer circa late 1992, so obscure that I have no memory of him at all. His name was Joe Bevins and he apparently was there filling in while our Sean Mooney was on honeymoon. Does anyone remember him?? Quote
davertfnewman Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Joe Aiello from one of the Canadian indies with TV. Like the then-recently married Mooney, he's looking well still. https://www.instagram.com/p/DaBdoZgBk7A/ Quote
Chico Torres Posted October 25 Posted October 25 He definitely looks like a guy called Joey Aiello from New Joisey who knows a guy that knows a guy who could call in a few favours and get him a gig like that. Nothing but respect for a guy who is still cashing in on a 2 hour temp gig from 34 year ago. Quote
