I'm not as down on Gabe Kidd as others but fuck me, even I'm not going to defend that promo. Shockingly shite.

Honestly, with Moxley’s hilarious reaction I thought it actually worked - he’s essentially a cross between Scrappy Doo and Jay from The Inbetweeners. I liked the way that all played out.

Tombstone through some chairs on Wednesday, chucked down some stairs on Saturday, completed the New York Marathon on Sunday, and then flew to Jacksonville for an inevitable War Games bump through fire or some shit the following Wednesday.

Craig David would never.

Honestly I think that tombstone probably did more damage to Josh's knees.

Looked pretty nasty.

That little segment they did on Dynamite, showing historic AEW moments from the city they're in, was great. Love stuff like that.

I've got the biggest man-crush on Steven Borden. What a ridiculously handsome hunk of a man. Between him and Queen Aminata, this was a staggeringly attractive TV show.

Going 'Kick steamer bellend' with Nick Wayne, might be one of AEW's most inspired ideas ever.

Yeah it was so good, by the end of it I wanted to kick his head in myself. My favourite bit was him implying hot chicks had been approaching him asking "are you the guy that beat Chris Jericho?" That perfect heel complete bullshit that always gets a pop from me.

* Skyflight is one of the worst stable names in wrestling history.

* Schiavone saw Ciampa's gear and was like, "he looks like... someone straight out of a video game!". Excalibur and probably half the roster probably left crying in the back at the lack of detail on the call. Schiavone also said The Cut should stop saying "guns up!" and say "knives up!". It's gotta be "knives out!", surely.

* Speaking of The Cut, I'm a Jay White fan, but they've been around for three shows and I'm already feeling fatigued. What an amorphous blob of indistinguishable guys. The Bang Bang Gang guys have Homered back into the hedge. I guess here's hoping they eke through Anarchy in the Arena and then start to take a better shape. Until then, though, it's probably all faceless mass brawls.

I wouldn't be averse to The Cut splitting up pretty sharpish and having Juice/The Gunns as a babyface trios and White/Finlay/Connor as a heel trios. Ace Austin can just go to ROH or something. Whatever they do The Cut don't feel like a long term act.

Might swerve Collision going forwards, huge chunks of it are so dull. Too much Sky-shite for one TV show, and Gabe Kidd may genuinely be my least favourite AEW act ever. When you're threatening to hang people by their intestines you're going way beyond the realms of a wrestling TV show, it's so stupid.

Thekla is so good but instead of that raising Skye Blue and Julia Hart up, it just exposes how rubbish they are next to her.

You big cynic. Remember when people said Adam Copeland's nail bat was dumb because he'd never use it? You're going to feel so silly.

(...I actually don't mind his rhetoric, when it's immediately followed by Moxley absolutely dismissing it, it's very amusing)

Totally with you on this. They have no charisma or presence whatsoever, and as a result they can't bounce off Thekla in the way you would want any stablemates of hers to do. I think they're missing a trick by not turning Thekla pretty much immediately, you have a Toni Storm or Hangman Page-level babyface act just waiting to happen with her. Turn Statlander to balance things out (and heck, she's better as a heel anyway) and job's a good 'un.

I've said it before, but they remind me of MJF and Stokely's extremely short-lived stable. White is significantly better as a babyface, and the same is probably true of Juice. The Gunns are good either way and I'd like to see them re-enter the tag division. There must be a reason for it, but they strike me as one of the more underutilised acts on the AEW roster. It's surprising that they're not being pushed as a featured act in the tag division, they're certainly good enough.

I didn't know Aminata had been added. That's exciting. Especially keen to see her and Thekla beat the hell out of eachother. Them two are magic together.

Build for both cage matches has been mediocre to say the least but I'm sure they'll both be great on the night. Skye Blue has probably been spending all week thinking of insane things to do. Hopefully Sting Jnr doesn't try anything too crazy.

I really wish I cared about this style of match. It's a rare week where I'm not even slightly buzzing for Dynamite and AEW. I'm not sure I've ever properly enjoyed a War Games-style match. That opening portion where there can't be an outcome is so boring to me, just drama-free. They can do the wildest of wild spots during that time, but I don't feel invested.

The other thing is, with two Blood and Guts matches to roll through, I'm hoping we don't get much of a pause in the build for Full Gear, which I've enjoyed - I want to see more than a quick segment hyping the trios match and also more from Mercedes/Shafir, which has been absolutely electric so far.

But hey, not everything AEW (or any wrestling company) does has to be for me. I imagine a lot of people are far more excited about this than I am, and with Full Gear looking like it'll be another home run, I can hardly complain.

I'm sure the matches will be fine, maybe even brilliant, but both B&G matches feel a bit thrown together for my liking. It's the same issue I have with War Games for WWE, it feels more like the feuds are fit to the match rather than the other way around. I also can live without watching Copeland injure himself in a cage again.

I’m not particularly fussed about Blood and Guts, but the whole thing will be worth it if at a particularly violent point they cut to the New Level watching backstage, like this, baffled and terrified by the insanity they’ve signed up for.
