Paid Members LaGoosh Posted April 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 2, 2025 (edited) He had some cracking matches against Mark Henry during the Hall of Pain run. Him and Sabu (of all people) had a surprisingly great match on PPV once too. Edited April 2, 2025 by LaGoosh Quote
Paid Members TheBurningRed Posted April 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 2, 2025 Big Show had a decent run in that period. Good matches with Mark Henry, Sheamus and The Undertaker. But he’s always been a bit meh. Agree about Albert. I did really enjoy his criminally short run teaming with Test. As far as singles matches ago, the only standout I can remember was a cracking match with Benoit on an episode of Smackdown. Quote

The tiresome sarcasm of the "Good In Japan" moniker that is often used on here is broadly down to him, and maybe Karl Anderson. I've not seen his work as Giant Bernard in NJPW, but for the most part I didn't really enjoy his work except as A-Train. My comment was a laboured gag stemming from the guilty pleasures thread a while back. Quote

Just felt very lazy and unimaginative, not to mention that there are plenty other giants out there, so why should he be called that? Still better than "Big Show", though. Kevin Sullivan's explanation was that the emphasis is meant to be on The, not on Giant. That he's The Giant, the biggest, baddest, most important one there was. Quote

I always liked that they tossed around the name “Titan” for him before debut. Of course, they ran out of time to think of a decent working name so Cole had to just shout out in a panic “King, that’s Paul Wight!!” on the night. Then he was the “Big Nasty” for a couple of weeks. Which also sucked. Edited April 3, 2025 by air_raid Wellllllllllll Quote
Ro_y Disco Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Not a wrestler but watching a Hardy Boyz match has made me think: has there ever been a great Table match after the first one vs Dudleyz? (or maybe even a good one?) They usually seem to be booked for the sake of having a gimmick match, rather than any animosity between opponents. The only memorable Table match I can think of is Big Show losing by putting his foot through a table, but that was far from good. Quote

Think it was Judgement Day 2000 maybe. Quote

All I recall is DX winning, and the rematch under “handicap dumpster table” rules at King of the Ring with Tori a legal participant, which DX also won, because they put Tori through a table anyway after it because she needed time off for shoulder surgery. And that was pretty much the end of her. Quote
