Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 13, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 13, 2025 I don't know that necessarily tracks. There have been plenty of good pro wrestlers who were shit at MMA, and a fair few MMA fighters who weren't much cop at pro wrestling. Quote
Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted February 13, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 13, 2025 @Carbomb @air_raid To be fair (and in the interest of balance), I've had plenty of people over the years vouch for Spud being a good dude. I can only go off personal experience and if it was a one-off I'd just put it down to him having a bad day. But every time I crossed paths with him he was a prick. Either I'm spectacularly unlucky or maybe I'm the cunt? (Don't answer that!) Another one - never really liked Jeff Hardy anyway but after the multiple instances of him driving under the influence and his generally reckless behaviour I don't think he should be employed by any company at all. Hey, no need to explain - as you say, you can only take people as you find them. I agree about Jeff Hardy. He's taken the piss so many times, it's surprising he hasn't been Jake Roberts-ed. Quote
Paid Members Jesse Posted February 14, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 14, 2025 I also liked Spud and thought he was a blast to work with most of the time when we crossed paths, but he could definitely get a mard on when he wanted to and wasn't shy about it when he did. So I wouldn't put it on you as the problem Lorne Quote

So, I was the timekeeper on that show (and did a little ring announcing for the FWA and Futureshock around the time), and was running around generally helping out with stuff. At that show beforehand, I see AJ Styles and CM Punk standing around looking uncertain and annoyed. I go up and ask what's up, and they're like "We were told to take a table here, but there's no table'. Nothing to do with me, but I tell them I'll go right now and get that sorted. AJ is all 'Thank you, man, I appreciate that'. and Punk was just doing his best death glare at me. Five minutes later, I've got a table for them. AJ's very nice to me, Punk's all like 'took fucking long enough' and continues giving me the death stare while I walk away. Thing is, it didn't come across as intimidating - just chippy and weird behaviour because, otherwise, everyone was very chilled. I was probably lucky there weren't muffins and a press conference around. Took me long enough to read this. As someone who hates being fucked about I actually sympathise and will from this day forward forgive CM Punk. I'm sure he'll be thrilled when he hears. Quote
