Not sure if we just didn't get some of them or they weren't as well stocked. You can tell the ones we got - the classification stamps and English addresses. We didn't get stuff like Bash at the Beach '95, which you can tell is a folded out cardboard box because of the curves at the bottom.

Was there a particular reason we didn't get them? No one had the licence or something?
TibBo Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 WH Smith’s definitely sold the WCW videos, as I got a few from there. It was also the only place I could find the double-box WrestleMania 4

Merzbow Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 No WCW on TV likely played a big part, it was off the screen in 94 wasn't it?
davertfnewman Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 At least in the Central region it was on from April or May of '92 to September or October of '95. We started with JT Southern and ended with Eddie Guerrero.

It was definitely on ITV until late 95 because I remember seeing that Hogan vs Sting match from a Nov 95 Nitro on there. Also remember seeing stuff like the Flair vs Arn rift leading to their Fall Brawl match and shite like Sgt Pittman pissing about with the Cobra that year. But yeah, hardly a hot period until it picked up the following year with the arrival of the NWO.
Paid Members DCW Posted January 12, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 12, 2025 Did TNT/Bravo show the WCW PPV's during the hot period in the mid-late 90's even? we only had limited cable TV back then so rarely saw any WCW telly unless I visited my cousin who got it from DSF.

No, just Nitro and then Thunder later in the run.

Merzbow Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 We had to rely on the German channel DSF for PPVs but we missed most of them in my house, same channel had a bunch of softcore iirc...
westlondonmist Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 I watched WCW but I'm not sure if we just taped it or it was on a Saturday afternoon. We used the timer function on our tape recorder a lot, so entirely plausible. It was a secondary watch to WWF though. Our local video shop had loads of WCW tapes luckily. A 7 year old me was amazed watching Chamber of horrors.
Paid Members Callum1993 Posted January 12, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 12, 2025 I vaguely remember WCW being on Channel 5 on a Friday night in like 99/2000 I think? From memory it wasn’t shown in order it jumped between years without any rhyme or reason. In terms of the VHS’s I think the first ever Wrestling VHS I bought was Spring Stampede 1999…I think in Blackpool in late 99.

Show the TV's promoting the PPV but not the actual PPV. Why didn't TNT/Bravo ever sort it? would seem like an easy win even if they just showed it on delay with ads or whatever.

Absolutely rotten.
