Realistically, our TV and radio archives should be wholly available, but that's not the case. However, much like the WWE Vault, what some of the channels and production companies provide to us are good enough in their uniqueness and rarity. I'm a keen subscriber to the BBC and Thames Television archives, while also dropping in on CR's Video Vaults for some Irish clips too. These channels have struck gold with taking footage out of something that could've been watched thirty or forty years ago over tea or supper and taken for granted and making them feel really special.

This is basically my YouTube viewing thread

I love the BBC Archive, but I think they've removed my favourite one which is about a grade A nutter who thinks he can just renovate his house/knock down walls/smash up his garden and his stairs and its brilliant.

So for now have my second favourite which is this loud football fan.

Also finally a place to pop in the 6 hour footage of NBC News as JFK was assassinated. Absolutely fascinating to see the newsroom in real time.

I'd love a full archive of Match Of The Day/The Big Match etc in HD

There was that footballia website during lockdown which had hundreds of thousands of games but most were poor quality and without English comms.

Mosfilm, the production company that pretty much singlehandedly produced the entirety of Russian film has a amazingly extensive archive on both YouTube and VK.

I've never seen anything else quite like it, there's a lot with English subtitles too.

Reminds me of the Room 101 with Danny Baker featuring a Kilroy episode full of lookalikes, including a guy who looked like a cross between Robert Redford and Johnny Valiant, complaining about how looking like the former is nothing but trouble for him (although he keeps up the suntans and dye jobs to keep the look).

Very true, although I think Danny threw it in as another place for misfits and weirdos to reside. Plus Kilroy knew his way around a sunbed and a hair stylist too!
