That has reminded me that I always meant to finish Promethea; I enjoyed the first couple books of that. Grant Morrison is maybe the most consistent of that group of big names for me. Neither of them is a wrong un or a prick though from what I know so not appropriate for this thread. Speaking of comics though.. as mentioned recently in another thread I am really bummed out that Transmetropolitan is ruined for me now due to Warren Ellis's misdeeds as I really loved it. So he's my submission for this thread. Hit and miss with his other work, but that series was just masterful. A great story, really well observed and the world felt so real. Incredibly prescient and still relevant, like the best sci fi should be. Just thinking about it now would have, in the past, been a trigger to start a re-read. I'm sure I will revisit it at some point, but right now I just don't think I'll enjoy it so kinda want to leave the memories alone. Edited September 16, 2024 by Chest Rockwell Quote
